Overpriced, loud, hot.

dan, Amazon
18 April 2014
  • Summary: Pros: looks kind of sleek at first glance. Good reviews on amazon. Powerful card. Would be a lot more efficient, better with proper cooling. Cons: way over priced. you can get a r7 265 that is way better than this one, uses less power, and costs about 50$ less. The card runs very hot. It has to be underclocked to keep it under 75C under load. The fans are always on 100% fan speed. Also, the voltage on the card is locked so it can't be undervolted.

  • Summary: Put the card in CrossfireX and it smoked. No overclocking, no nothing. Just ran 3DMark in crossfireX and it smoked a resistor on the card.

powerful and quiet

Thomas D. Torkelson, Amazon
8 April 2014
  • Summary: This is a nice quiet unit but I have some adjustments to do on it yet. Sometimes when I am scrolling through text it skips and on some videos there are lines that run through the image. Not sure if these issues are from the video card but not sure where to look yet.

Runs WAY too hot

Jackson G., Newegg
12 February 2014
  • Summary: I really wish this card would have worked out. The stock clock settings are impressive for the price.
  • Pros: randomly came with a tahiti chip.
  • Cons: Ran really hot. I couldn't get it to stabilize at anything below 92 degrees when running valley.

User Review

10 February 2014
  • Summary: 2 GB, 256 bit rate, DDR5 Ram and around 1000mhz clock for $200 is awesome! Example: This card with 4760k, 8GB and mechanical HD: In ranked matches it runs SC HoTS at "ultra" settings very smoothly and responsively.
  • Pros: Excellent Card for it's a price ATM(179.00 with rebate)
  • Cons: It's being replaced by newer cards so the window for me to set up SLI is closing. Can't OC this card.

  • Summary: Its a good 7870 but id suggest if you are to buy one id get the double dissipation edition as it would lower the temps and noise
  • Pros: -works fine, -decent quality cooler, -cheap for a 7870
  • Cons: -runs kind of loud as there is only one fan

Quiet

Amazon Customer, Amazon
22 January 2014
  • Summary: I love this video card! it is quiet compared to an older 58xx series card. Does a good job with graphic for all the latest games. I have it hooked up to a little older 27 inch apple monitor via mini display which looks amazing!
