XFX ATI Radeon HD 4870

  • Summary: I upgraded to this from a PNY Geforce 210. My Windows 7 index scores went from a 3.8 and 5.6 in Graphics/Video to a 7.5 in each. Its truly a nice card and it will do what you want when you want. The ONLY negative about this card, is with its own fan and 60mm fans I have pointed directly at it running full blast its still runing 70c temp wise. So it is a hot running card.

Faster of the 4000 Series ATi Graphics line

  • Summary: Memory bandwidth is very important. I learned this by looking at benchmarks test taken at a known computer tech hardware site. If you compare the 4850 1GB GDDR3 to the 4870 1GB GDDR5 the difference is a little bit higher clock speed, but the memory called GDDR5 is much faster enabling the 4870 to handle higher graphics settings and speeding up on the frames per second vs. the rest of the 4000 series.

XFX Radeon HD 4870

  • Summary: This video card is awesome! Runs any and all new games including Crysis-Crysis Warhead maxed out. It doesn't miss a beat. It runs a little warm but if you have good case cooling you will be fine. I haven't done any over-clocking on it yet no need to. For the price you can't beat this card in performance. I am running a Samsung(23") widescreen monitor maxed out on resolution as well. I'd buy this again in a heartbeat!
