Summary: I've had this graphics card for years now. It works well. I'm still playing most games on Max/Ultra high settings. It's starting to show it's age though. Sometimes I'll get some stutter or frame lag. And the ATI catalyst program has always been a pain.
Summary: This video card is simply amazing. The firmware could be changed and it can be unlocked into a 6970, delivering you the super performance. You can play anything at HIGHEST settings.. This is the best video card for 1 monitor setup, if you want to do eyefinity get a second one..
Summary: This card has been everything that i thought it would be and more. It doesnt run hot out of the box (60C idle 77-78C under load), and runs every game i through at it on high settings ( crysis 2, portal 2, Lfd2, and assassin's creed brotherhood.) I am running my games at 1680x1050, so scaling isnt a problem. I also have overclocked the card using AMD overclock and she still runs fine without a hitch.
Summary: The future of the PC is going to be differant than what we have now. Microsoft has relesed IE 8 which uses the power of the Video Card instead of the computers processor. Microsoft is also working on Windows 8 which will also be using the power of the video card instead of the processor. In other words CPU going to GPU. Having a Video Card with 2gigs of ram will future proof the upcoming opperating systems and programs.
Summary: System i7 950 OC to 4.1g OCZ 12g 1600 ram GIGABYTE GA-X58A-UD3R Motherboard OCZ F120 SSD I bought this card and stay with original bios for a few days. Flashed it to 6970 right after I got my EK waterblock. I am running at 920/1430 on stock voltage for a while already. It seems they didn't revise it preventing the unlock ability. Everything was stable and didn't cause any instability issue yet.
Summary: I was pretty intimidated by this card because many reviewers have said that this would be an extremely tight fit in my Antec 900. when I received it on the 9th, I just had to remove one of the 120 mm fan cages and this fit in easily with 1-2 inches to spare. It is, however, still a long card and is not to be taken lightly. I doubt these would fit crossfire in my case.
Summary: To my surprise XFX has competitively priced this card and have not continued their price premium over the other manufacturers. Being an avid XFX loyalist because of their quality, customer service, and double lifetime warranty, I purchased this card thinking nothing of where the savings were coming from.
Summary: I was using a Nvidia GTX 580 and swapped it out for a couple of these in crossfire. I got these when I found out about the flash trick to unlock the shaders. A google search should get you the info you need to easily do this. I would also suggest checking forums to see the current state of doing this in case AMD revises cards to eliminate this trick before buying.
Summary: I upgraded from 5850, and by far much more mature product. No dual screen flickering that was with the 5850 series, Easy to OC. More than enough power to run anygames. I run a 30" monitor and this thing pretty much owns everything at max resolution and setting (some may need a bit of lowering AA) highly recommended. Worth the price. And runs pretty damn cool.
