  • Conclusion: By this juncture, I'm sure you don't need us to tell you that the GeForce 8800 GTS 512MB is an awesome performer in any shape or form, offering itself as a graphics board capable of handling virtually every title you can throw at it with aplomb, and at relatively high resolutions to boot.

XFX GeForce 8800 GTS 512MB Alpha Dog

AMDZone

  • Conclusion: The GeForce 8800 GTS 512MB is a very impressive card with some of the best performance we've seen in some time. With prices having dropped quite a bit from the introduction it's also a much better deal than it was at launch. If you're looking between a GeForce 8800 GT 512MB and GTS it is about a $50 difference from the cheapest to most expensive card.

  • Summary: The XFX GeForce 8800 GTS 512MB is a solid implementation of NVIDIA's reference design and competes with the much higher priced GeForce 8800 GTX. However, the GeForce 8800 GTS 512MB faces stiff competition from the GeForce 8800 GT , which can pose a difficult decision in choosing one model over the other.

XFX 8800GTS 512MB

  • Conclusion: Its pretty clear from the results that nVidia did a pretty good job beefing up the GTS for it’s sequel, giving it a clear lead over the original in every benchmark we ran. I admit that the overclock doesn’t do a lot in some cases, but that’s where the CPU will be holding the GPU back; damn CPU bottlenecks. While it might not have as much”bang for buck” as the GT, the GTS does offer good value for money, and it features a reasonably quiet cooler.
  • Pros: Good value for money, Reasonably quiet, Nice bundle
  • Cons: 9 series cards released soon, Dual slot cooler

XFX 8800GTS 512MB (G92) Alpha Dog Edition Review

  • Conclusion: Writing this conclusion is a bit tough because the XFX 8800GTS 512MB Alpha Dog Edition presented me with such varying results, it is hard to really gauge it in any kind of light. If this card would have been released into a marketplace which was devoid of the 8800GT 512MB, things would have been a lot more clear-cut in terms of the price you pay for performance.
