Card is fine, but Windows 7 does not like AGP

Been There, Amazon
  • Summary: Card works fine, but unfortunately Windows 7 is not really compatible, regardless of what MICROSOFT says. Hardware acceloration does not work under Win 7. ---- Excellent card for XP and any applications under Win 7 which are not dependant on hardware based graphics. I am dual booting XP & Win 7 for the foreseeable future as I replace all the programs & hardware are now orphans.

It worked right out of the box

gwsfeld, Amazon
14 March 2014
  • Summary: It worked the instant I turned the computer on. The old card died so I couldn't uninstall the old Nividia drivers before installing the new card. The only thing I had to do was set the screen resolution to bring the machine to where it was before. Plug and Play worked wonderfully this time. I'm not a gamer but I watched a couple movies after installation with no problems and a good picture. My only problem is with VisionTek.

Cheap junk for the price paid.

Richard Harris, Amazon
11 January 2014
  • Summary: Ordered this for XPS tower, came with molar plug broken from factory, whoever tested this broke the plug as it was still hanging by the four wires, I connected to one molar, than another, both gave warning message that aux power was NOT connected! I applied for and received an immediate refund to my acct, the package is headed back. This molar plug was so tight I had problems getting it connected so I can see what happened to whoever tested this item at VisonTek.

PCI express card shipped instead of AGP card

Nanjappa Jagadish, Amazon
27 November 2013
  • Summary: The only reason why this product got a single star was because the seller of the item shipped the wrong component. They shipped the PCI Express card version of this graphics card instead of the AGP version of it. Upon contacting them about it, they refunded my money because they didnt have the AGP version of it (which is a good thing) but, asked me to just keep the PCI Express card (bad thing)! Sounded like they didnt want to spend any money to get the card back from me.

Works great for my old Gateway

Logan Youngblood, Amazon
3 September 2013
  • Summary: I just wanted to play minecraft and run a small extra monitor, it works perfectly for this. WIth optifine installed on minecraft it runs on low settings. I don't mind that tho. It can really bring an old computer back to life. Only thing is, it has to be reinstalled everytime I turn my computer off. This can be very annoying at times.
