Sapphire Radeon 9250 256MB for Mac G4 Conversion

ncccom, Ebay
19 March 2010
  • Summary: I bought this card expressly to convert it for use with a Quicksilver Powermac G4 computer system. I flashed a reduced (64K) Mac compatible BIOS (found on the internet) with the ATIFLASH program (which can be found at several websites) onto the card (while it was installed in a standard PC booted...

  • Excerpt: I run one of these on my old pentium p3 with a bx2000 motherboard and 768 meg ram and it only runs 2x but it is stable and fs2004 returns 24 fps which is great for such an old machine. The only fault is my motherboard not being able to clock the gpamhics card.Other than that no probs.

  • Excerpt: I bought my Sapphire Radeon 9250 from Maplin in September 2006. I had just upgraded from a GeFORCE4 MX-440 128mb card that was annoyingly incompatible with a lot of software. I decided to get the 256mb version as it didn’t cost too much more than the 128.
  • Pros: Its 256 .   GTA Works, Windows Vista Works .
  • Cons: Its not PCI - e, but just old AGP .

  • Excerpt: If you are looking for a cheap graphics card, you have found it, but if you are looking for something that will run Windows Vista then you have not... This card works great and with 256 mb ram, its a bargain, but it is not Pixel Shader 2.0 or Direct X 9 Compatible, so this card is not very future...
  • Pros: Cheap
  • Cons: Not Direct X 9 . 0 Compatible

  • Excerpt: Sapphire are well renown for producing very high quality AGP cards and they folow that path here! I have since upgraded from this card but let me tell you even now i would recommend this card to anyone looking to upgrade significantly for under £40.
  • Pros: An amazing card for its price, would highly reccommend
  • Cons: Not really suitable for high end gamers
