Fan died after 2.5 years

Summary: I don't think I'll be buying another Sapphire card. I might feel differently if I really used the card hard, but I probably only used the card for 100 hours over 2.5 years...
Pros: Great card while it lasted for very infrequent gaming. Was definitely more quiet than loud, and it stayed cool when both fans were working.
Cons: I noticed that one of the fans stopped working when temperatures started getting higher than what I'm comfortable with. This seems to be a relatively common problem with this model, and there doesn't seem to be a good DIY solution. I've kicked off the process of talking with Sapphire for figuring...
Summary: My first ATI card and not a good experience, but the problem seems to mostly be affecting sapphire cards. Will wait and see where the blame should be.
Pros: Pretty powerful for the price
Cons: This card gives me a blackscreen freeze with a sound loop about once a day on average. Looking at the forums this appears to be REALLY widespread with this card from sapphire. I wouldn't recommend buying and taking a chance.
Summary: Don't be discouraged by this review of the 7870 as a card to purchase, just dont buy a Sapphire.
Pros: This car can play anything out for the most part on 1920x1080, at ultra settings with AA/AF. The problem is with alot of other people with the Sapphire version of this card it will completely and randomly crash to a black screen, and you are forced to hard reboot, I've tried everything to get thi...
Summary: currently in process of RMA and moving on from sapphire products. Build: ASRock Z77 Extreme4 i5 3750k 2x4GB corsair vengeance thermal take 600w PSU
Pros: Good bang for your buck card, OC'able, can run cool and quiet.
Cons: google sapphire 7870 black screen sound loop and you will see a prominent number of people with issues with this card. I tried multiple tweaks and methods to stop the crashing to no avail. Buyer beware.
Summary: The Dirt game included isn't all that fun.
Pros: -Works fantastic when it works. -Looks pretty when it doesn't -Quiet
Cons: The 7000x series features a crippling bug, either in the hardware itself or in the drivers, which has resulted in countless forum threads detailing full system crashes during gameplay. The crashes are a buzzing noise from the headphones preceding a black screen with "no signal" displayed, requiri...
Summary: Thank goodness for Newegg's awesome return policies. Going to try this replacement if no good then moving to different card maybe nvidia all together. Should've went with gigabyte or xfx.
Pros: Great Card... Potentially. Lots of pros... if it worked. I guess some of the cards do work if they're getting good reviews...
Cons: ***BLACK SCREEN LOCK-UP*** Unbelievably disappointing with this product. In the middle of a build with no GPU, waiting for RMA. Shame on Sapphire Technologies for not doing any quality checks. This was my first and undoubtedly my last sapphire tech product.
Pros: This is a pretty fast card and lets me run Guild Wars 2 at 1920x1200 at max settings with decent frame rates.
Cons: Beware! The card randomly stops outputting a signal and forces you to restart the computer. There is no definitive solution to the issue yet. Also, the screen flickers way too many times just to change areas in game. Even though the card is fast, area changes are extremely slow. I just RMA'd this...
do a web search for HD7870 "black screen" before buying
Timothy M., Newegg

Summary: I've owned 5 Sapphire cards in the last 10 years, and this is the only one I've ever had problems with. It's not just my card or build, though, as web searches for things like 'HD7870 "black screen"' will show. Lots of people are having the exact same problem.
Pros: * Fantastic performance, even at 2560x1440 * Very quiet fan
Cons: * causes complete system lockups (no blue screen) at random intervals, mainly while gaming.
Summary: I was very eager to use this card but I will have to look for a different style.
Pros: Looks like a beautiful card and would love to use it
Cons: Own a Dell Precision T3500 and the card cannot be installed without leaving the side panel off and a HD swing panel unfastened. The power cables stick out right into the backside of the HD swing panel. Disapointed.
Summary: I purchased the Sapphire 7870 seven weeks ago for use in my new computer build. The primary uses for my new computer/graphics card were 3d Architectural modelling (in AutoCad) and gaming (Fallout 3, Oblivion, etc). The computer build was successful without any hardware or driver problems.
