Summary: I bought 2 of these in October 2010. They are excellent, and virtually silent. When I tax them the fan speeds up and they consume more power, but they are still quiet compared to many cards. They stay cooler with the Vapor-X technology, and are stable. Two thumbs up!
Summary: This card is simply amazing. When I purchased it, it was a step below the just released 5970 but much cheaper and still crushing every game out at the time. A year later, this card is still able to handle every game I have on the highest settings without even breaking a sweat.
Summary: COOLING AND NOISE: It runs at 34C idle and 50C completely maxed out in Battlefield Bad Company 2, and still the fan doesn't go higher then 30% speed so its considerably quieter then my previous 8800GTS which ran at 90C and 100% fan!!! That card was really annoying.
Summary: Most graphics card manufactures use the tried and true formula of utilizing a fan and heatsink to cool the GPU. They would change the heatsink layout or add another fan, but the concept essentially stays the same.
Summary: Comments about Sapphire Technology 100281VX-2SR VAPOR-X Radeon HD 5870 Graphics Card: This video card is best performing and of it's kind. Excallent cooling and already slightly over-clocked. Also, very quiet cooling system. Would recommend this brand and model number anytime!
Pros: Easy To Install, Easy To Use, Quality Output, Reliable Performance
Summary: I am able to play games like GTA4, Starcraft2, Company of Heroes, Crysis Warhead, GRAW2, and many others on the highest settings on 1920x1080 and have minimal to no lag. Even under load this video card is very quiet.
Summary: Defintely the best videocard so far this far into Oct. 2009. Superior graphics, eyefinity etc. ATI is definitely kicking NVIDIA's butt this time around. Runs at low temps, easy overclockability as well.
