Great for Bitcoin mining!

jkcummi, Ebay

  • Summary: The 5870 has some of the best performance numbers in its generation. I needed one of these to set up a Bitcoin mining rig and the numbers you get from this are just great for the price. I used this in an Ubuntu Linux machine and the drivers work like a charm. I highly recommend these!

Excellent video card. Uses less power, runs cooler

KrK "-- KrK", Amazon
16 March 2011
  • Summary: I bought 2 of these in October 2010. They are excellent, and virtually silent. When I tax them the fan speeds up and they consume more power, but they are still quiet compared to many cards. They stay cooler with the Vapor-X technology, and are stable. Two thumbs up! Just a few things to consider: They are huge. May have problems fitting in some systems that don't have a lot of room. Cards are double-wide full length.

Excellent product, price and features.

Daniel Alcalap, Amazon
25 November 2010
  • Summary: COOLING AND NOISE: It runs at 34C idle and 50C completely maxed out in Battlefield Bad Company 2, and still the fan doesn't go higher then 30% speed so its considerably quieter then my previous 8800GTS which ran at 90C and 100% fan!!! That card was really annoying. You could notice the relief in your ears when you turned the computer off. Now, with this card, everythings definitely quieter and less annoying.

Awesome Cooling = Even More Awesome Overclocking

P. Seow "I like robots.", Amazon
20 October 2010
  • Summary: Most graphics card manufactures use the tried and true formula of utilizing a fan and heatsink to cool the GPU. They would change the heatsink layout or add another fan, but the concept essentially stays the same. However, Sapphire's Vapor-X is more than just a re-tweaking, but a new and improved cooling solution for high performance graphics cards.
