Summary: Ordered this as a replacement for an out-of-date GeForce 7600GT card based on great views on Tom's Hardware. Item arrived quickly (expected nothing less from Amazon), and I had downloaded the most current drivers before the card arrived. Deleted all old Nvidia drivers, installed the AMD card, updated the drivers, and everything seemed fine until I opened my web browser (IE, FF, and Chrome).
Summary: I know I should have say anything about this model but when Amazon had offer rebate for $15 from Sapphire AMD Radeon HD 6850 PCIE Video Card. So I applied rebate form after I ordered the video card. Then later, the email from Sapphire, said that my rebate form is rejected. I called them and asked what is going on, they said because of AMAZON disqualified with rebate. What???
Summary: I bought 2 of these to run x-fire and had nothing but trouble.Im pretty sure it was a driver issue. It was sold to me as havng an AMD chipset but must have been one of the last ATI's out there. The AMD driver update was having conflicts so I realoaded the ati version that came with card but that wasn't much better. Sapphire tech support was pretty bad. The guy was just reading from an instruction manul and had no idea what he was talking about.
Summary: Sapphire promised a rebate on this product when I bought it. They have confirmed that my information was received and processed but I have yet to receive any rebate at all. I have contacted them, they did not read my email and did not help me. Contacting BBB now to deal with this company. Do not buy Sapphire. Edit: I finally received my rebate. They said 8-10 weeks it took over 12 from the date it was approved. It took 16 weeks from when I mailed it in.
Summary: Be careful when purchasing this item. Although we were of the understanding this was an "open-box" item we were not expecting the seller to ship us a highly defective product! When placed in the first PC the display immediately became distorted. The picture would flash with black bars scattering the display. When that would calm down small black & white pixels would cover the screen, making it impossible to see through them.
Summary: Card had bad video artifacts immediately after installing. Ok, so these are delicate components, getting a bad egg happens from time to time. Returned for replacement through Amazon, which was a super-smooth process at no cost to me with the new card shipped instantly on request. However the replacement card was also bad but it took me a long time to determine why since it worked ok with windows default driver but not with any of the updated drivers.
Summary: If you get this card, you better not count on their Warranty. I had one die after 5 months and was never able to get a hold of Sapphire tech support for RMA. Would be a good deal if it worked.
Summary: The $15.00 rebate is invalid after 9/15/2011. Check the rebate form before ordering. It is either an Amazon error or vendor error. In any case, if you order after 9/15/2011 you won't be able to submit a rebate on-line, so beware if this is important to you.
Summary: For the first few hours that I had this card it ran like a dream. I would get an average of 45 FPS on Borderlands at 1080p with all the other settings maxed out. Shortly thereafter everything went downhill. I constantly saw several problems that would reoccur every 5 minute or so while at working at the desktop: the video driver would crash, the screen would freeze for a few moments, or graphical artifacts popped-up.
