Great Card

Johnny L., Newegg
12 June 2015
  • Summary: Several people have stated that it runs hot, which it does. But the temperature on mine has always stayed in range. That said, I went ahead and added a small 5v fan to the front side of the cooling fins. Now, it runs cooler and I don't have to be paranoid about it overheating.
  • Pros: Easy to set up with the install disk, or downloaded "new" Catalyst software recognizes it immediately.
  • Cons: None

For the price, it is perfect

Alan H., Newegg
15 May 2015
  • Pros: Card has no fan so it is very quiet. It works exactly as it should for its purpose, which is a simple card to watch movies on that has multiple monitors. The price is very low.
  • Cons: none at all

Best Value

Kevin K., Newegg
6 April 2015
  • Summary: I go to TechArp.com and view the AMD and NVIDIA parameter tables. The main thing I look at is the GT/s and GP/s divided by price ratio. For low end PCs, GP/s (Pixels) are more important than GT/s (Texels). This one is 2.6 GP/s. Not bad for $29.
  • Pros: Best value video card for inexpensive applications, like low-end PCs and all other PCs that don't need great gaming graphics. Silent operation. 1GB.
  • Cons: Not much. Horizontal cooling fins?

Works in Older Mac Pro!

William W., Newegg
27 December 2014
  • Summary: I was hoping to upgrade the 256M ATI2600 card in my 2008 vintage Mac Pro (3,1, running MacOS 10.7.5 "Lion"), without spending too much on a lost cause. Initially it didn't work, but I followed the instructions here: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4091453 (I hope that link is allowed; it's got...
  • Pros: HDMI, Fanless, Better than stock ATI2600 card in Mac Pro 2008
  • Cons: Requires hacking system files, does display during boot.

Great little card

Henry D., Newegg
27 November 2014
  • Summary: No fan but not a big deal. Stays pretty quiet.
  • Pros: For a $40.00 card this is a great little thing. Playing Splinter Cell Blacklist on ultra and highest temp is 40. Did not even have to over clock. So for a budget graphics card this is the one.
  • Cons: none
