Summary: have not had any issues since second card which is why i give you 4 stars instead of 1. I understand that sometimes in rare cases that hardware does break of natural causes which is why i gave this card a second chance.....but in future this will not happen again
Pros: temps at idle 32 degrees c at all times max load temps for any games 60 degrees c good price range in 2011 = $ 250.00 duel fans are quiet even at 60 percent fan speed after 21/2 years of ownership runs battlefield 3 ultra settings at 60 fps at 1600-900 runs battlefield 4 ultra settings at 60 fps ...
Cons: first power color video card i got died after 2 weeks of use card is very flimsy and can easily break with no prob if not careful while installing :(
Summary: Ok, so I generally stick with specific companies for my hardware, but I took a chance here on a company i know nothing about. I am going to update this review for two reasons. 1 because i want to see if they validate my rebate, if they don't, i'm going to update negatively.
Pros: Powerful card, very sexy. if i get my rebate, and the card is still functioning by that time, i'll update review with 5 stars....and i will be purchasing more powercolor products in the future as well..if.
Cons: none yet. however I will be updating this review, hopefully for the good and not for the bad, see other thoughts.
Pros: Powerful, kills every game, shaders unlocked no problem, used the included power jack to hold this beast up
Cons: Its huge, its loud, and the stock cooler is not great....minor details in light of the performance. Could not OC to 6970 levels without BF3 locking the system up and needing a hard shutdown. That's ok because it slays it at stock speed.
Summary: AMD Phenom II x6 3.7 Asrock Extreme 920 8GB 1600 RAM Powercolor 2GB 6950 Antec Earthwatts 750W CM Hyper 212+ cooler CM HAF 912 case
Pros: Very powerful card, even at stock settings. Runs Skyrim on max perfectly -easy to install -As others have said, no trouble with OC as far as stabilizing temps is concerned
Cons: The VGA cooler on this card is lousy. OC drives the fan speed up like crazy, which would be less of a problem if the stupid thing didn't unbalance and rattle loudly above 60% fan speed. Also, this thing does vent out the side of the card, not the back. Going to correct with a 120mm side fan outta...
Cons: had just over 2 weeks before the card stops recognizing slot. tried different card in same slot. worked fine. installed on second slot and ran 3 monitors fine. again now cannot run 3 . tested slot with yet another card and it worked fine. trying different brand.
Summary: Make sure you have long enough DVI cables and the Active extender's to make your 3+ monitors work without having to re-order and wait.
Pros: Easy to install the hardware. Good price
Cons: New ATI software is less intuitive that I'd like. Took a few exta minutes to get eyefinity working. Performance improvement in Rift was not as much as I would have liked going from a 4870 to 6950.
