Summary: I must have gotten lucky. Sounds like some are having issues w this card. A buddy of mine bought this after I did because of price point and his is working good too. Good price to tear up my BF3 :) These do come with a good manufacturer's warranty I noticed... Send it back!
Pros: So far so good. Bf3 on high is in the 60s for frame rates. Ultra is more around the 30s. Playable but not as good as high. I usually use aftermarket cooling anyway but gave this one a chance first. Too warm and too loud. Happy once again with my Zalman :)
Summary: The cards are cheap for 6870s, and luckily I haven't had any of the major issues other people have had, and have been running them in crossfirex the entire time of ownership (2months). I'm happy with them so far, but still waiting on my rebate.
Pros: -(In CrossfireX) Runs SWTOR full graphics no issues -Runs SC2 Ultra settings no slow down
Cons: -One BSOD after a driver update in 2 months -Am having to use third party software to auto-adjust fan speeds when pushing them. -Not really a con, but be aware these cards each require 2 pci-e power connections.
Summary: Just don't send off for the mail n rebate right away and be prepared to have to RMA/replace at least once incase you get a defective card first time around (since there seems to be alot with this model).
Pros: Upgraded from a 4870 512mb .This card adds a nice boost in fps running games at 1080p.
Cons: First card was defective giving random green/black screens or vertical bars as soon as I had the drivers installed.I noticed it was at the bottom of the box under all the "cushion" paper when I first opened it.>: ( After reading all the bad reviews I decided to RMA for replacement at least one ti...
Summary: i overclock the voltage and the reboots and other issues stoped now im not sure if this is a gpu issue or psu issue without the overclock its voltage rating was 0.97 clock it at 1.2 and its fine no issues
Pros: Very good colors runs all games on high or more no lags for emulators great bluray playback
Cons: reboots pc alot on flash and other type of movies oddly it never reboots on games
Summary: Seems there might be a few lemons out there but so far no complaints about this one. Awesome card for the price. Might hold off trying to get the rebate since it seems more trouble later on if things start to go bad.
Pros: No problem with the install. Grabbed the newest drivers and no issues with artifacting, overheating or anything. Fan is quiet when not running at full load. Seems to run cool even in BF3 at 1920x1080 with everything on high. Getting 50 - 60 FPS consistently.
Cons: Minor Issue: Fan makes a slight noise at 40% speed and that's seems to be the default idle (27° - 40° range). Installed MSI Afterburner and set the speeds 2% faster at those temps and noise is gone. Easy quick fix though.
Summary: I'd suggest using an aftermarket VGA heatsink for this card, because the stock cooling option isn't satisfactory.
Pros: Handles anything thrown at it. Price (200$ with discount)
Cons: Base fan settings are too low, resulting in a higher than expected idle temperature. - When using 3D applications, the radial fan is very loud, and it is noticeable. - Card temperature during 3D is higher than I'd like, but from what I've read, it's perfectly within normal operating ranges for th...
Summary: If I didn't pay $170 for this shipped I would have given it 3 stars Pros: - Fast, cheap card - Stable at stock clocks - Can hook up lots of displays - Looks nice with red PCB, dual fans look kind of cool - Comes with crossfire adapter Cons: - Even will dual fans this loads with poclbm at 82C at...
Summary: This card is as expected, great frames in-game (for what I play at least) and looks nice to boot. However, this card does run considerably hotter than others I've had and the way the shroud is attached seems a little half-ass.
