PowerColor HD 5750 Go! Green

13 March 2010
  • Summary: When I was introduced to PowerColor's HD 5750 Go Green at CES this year, I was quite sceptical. This whole "green" discussion has been transformed into a marketing scheme for companies to sell new stuff to consumers who are perfectly happy with what they had before. Let's see... the HD 5750 Go Green costs you $150, in terms of power consumption that's 1250 kWh at $0.12 per kWh (US average in Apr 2009).
  • Pros: Low power consumption, leads performance/Watt charts, Passive cooled - no fan noise, Software voltage control possible, DirectX 11 support, Native HDMI output, No PCIe power connector required, GDDR5 memory, Support for AMD EyeFinity Technology, Native HDMI & DisplayPort, Improvements to integrated HDMI audio device
  • Cons: Low price/performance ratio, Card might not fit all cases, due to cooler height, Cooler fins are sharp and could cut you, Slightly higher idle power consumption than reference design, DirectX 11 won't be relevant for quite a while, No support for CUDA / PhysX
