Summary: Been using this for 2 months. Amazon had the price $270.00 USD which was lower than newegg and other computer components retailers. Looks like the price has increased slightly (278.00) at the time I wrote this review. The install disk with the drivers refused to install on my os (Windows 7) due to compatibility errors, there was a slight inconvenience with doing an internet search to get the correct drivers.
Summary: Electronics advances at a very fast pace these days, and there are now newer and more powerful video cards on the market. But they are also quite a bit more expensive. This card finds the sweet spot for bargains in that it gives fantastic performance at a reasonable price. It is a double wide card, so ensure there is room in your rig. Under normal desktop load, it is very quiet; it will get a bit louder, but not unusually so, under heavy gaming load.
Summary: This card performs exceedingly well and gives me very good frame rates. The only reason why I have given this 4 stars is because I haven't yet experienced its full power because I only have a pentium D CPU. When an I5 3570k is installed, I will get another card and link them in SLI. All in all, exceptionally good card. Highly recommended.
Excerpt: Overall, this card is one of the best choices for a budget gaming enthusiast. Priced just 50€ or so over the GTX 650 Ti, yet outperforming it almost twice over and still being cheaper than the equivalent AMD offering, it is a very nice catch. NVidia cards are still getting the better end of the stick when it comes to game compatibility which makes the price difference easier to bear.
Pros: Excellent value for money and relatively cheap GTX 660 entry.
Cons: NVidia could still go down a little bit with their pricing as the 7870 is a really close contestant to this card.
