Palit GeForce GTX 470

Legion Hardware
6 July 2010
  • Summary: The recipe for the Palit GeForce GTX 470 is quite simple, improve the cooling and make the design cheaper to manufacture. This recipe does not provide the ingredients for any extra performance as Palit has decided to stick with the default Nvidia specifications for core and memory frequencies.

Palit GeForce GTX 470 Dual Fan

21 May 2010
  • Summary: Palit's GeForce GTX 470 is a solid implementation of a non-reference design for the GTX 470. Coming at reference design clocks, we didn't expect any changes in performance - and there weren't any. Palit also went with several design choices that aren't performance related.
  • Pros: Cheaper than reference design cards, Excellent overclocking potential, Better choice of display outputs, Native HDMI output, Support for DirectX 11, Support for NVIDIA 3D Vision Surround, Support for CUDA, PhysX and 3D Vision
  • Cons: Only two outputs can be active at the same time, Fairly noisy under load (just like the reference design), Higher power draw than reference design, DirectX 11 won't be relevant for quite a while
