The MSI NVIDIA GT 220 GPU is a Great Low-Budget Choice
27 April 2010
Summary: I play games almost every day, which include Team Fortress 2, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat, Grand Theft Auto IV, and Left 4 Dead 2. I was currently running a NVIDIA 8400 GS, with 4GB of RAM and a 2.2 AMD Sempron CPU. L4D2 would run at the bare minimum with a good bit of lag, so I decided that I'd go around and try for a cheaper card to boost my performance a little.
Summary: Building a cheap HTPC from a Lenovo S51/XP sp2 had an issue with the onboard graphics/BIOS finding new card. Otherwise works great at 1080 thru HDMI to my 52" Bravia. Had to change fonts in windows for better look and adjust edge of picture slightly to fit screen. Crysis pushes the card, but it runs. Now if they just can come up with better Blu-ray drivers!
