Nice card

13 November 2014
  • Summary: Fan started rattling 11 months in, quickly solved by MSI's rma team and they sent me a refurb. RMA took 1 week 3 days from the point I shipped it. Great job MSI!
  • Pros: -60fps 1080p on most games -Wide range of connectors -Small for a graphics card
  • Cons: -The fans, loud above 45%. Luckily it doesnt get above 45 most of the time. I plan on buying an aftermarket cooler for this card if I dont manage to get the fans to a decent level.

no probs here

gia t., Newegg
25 July 2014
  • Pros: Paired with my older i5 system, this thing continued to produce outstanding results as usual from amd cards. Will never use geforce again. MSI variant is an outstanding card all around, didn't bother with their software although i will dabble with the oc edition of my r9 270.
  • Cons: Did not honor my rebate, very dissapointing. I jumped through all the hurdles,,,,twice.

Great graphics card

Joshua P., Newegg
7 January 2014
  • Summary: it is a big card. be warned if you have a small case. It also requires two pci power connectors, but comes provided with an adapter if you don't have that many like i don't. The card isn't a power sink though, I'm running a 430 watt power supply and have had no issues so far.
  • Pros: Runs spectacularly, stays incredibly cold (averaging 30-40 degrees cooler then my previous card, an msi 5770). After i tuned up my Athlon 2 x4 3.0 ghz cpu by unlocking the L3 cache, I was able to play Guild wars 2 on ultra high draw distance with all settings maxed in PvE for several hours at 35 ...
  • Cons: when the card hits 48 degrees, it gets kinda loud. when it hits 49 degrees, it gets really loud. when it hits 50 degrees it gets RIDICULOUSLY loud. like. stupid loud. However, it USUALLY does not get above 43 degrees. DayZ on high graphics stays consistently warmer then 47 degrees but nothing els...

Works as advertised.

Jonathan G., Newegg
29 December 2013
  • Pros: The cooling is pretty decent, similar to Twin Frozr's lineup from MSI. Temps remain around 60 C while the GPU is on 96% load. Packaging doesn't come with a lot of useless manuals, and that's perfectly fine.
  • Cons: The case of the videocard feels a little fragile, it's made of plastic and it feels slightly flimsy.

Goes a long way for the value

Brady M., Newegg
27 December 2013
  • Summary: Other Computer Specs: i7 3770 8GB DDR3 1600 RAM 1TB 7200RPM HDD ASUS P8Z77-V LK MOBO Rosewill Challenger U3 Case
  • Pros: - Bought the card on sale for 150 (I think it retails at 170). - BioShock Infinite on Ultra benchmarked at 70 FPS, runs Skyrim with heavy mods and ENB with very few framerate dips, and is running everything else I play (Deus Ex Human Revolution, Witcher II Enhanced Edition, Planetside 2, etc) on ...
  • Cons: - It is a budget video card. It's not going to give you the same performance that a 680 will, and some auto-detect graphics settings will recommend High instead of Ultra. These can be ignored without a problem, but just know that for very modern games, the framerate will dip below 60 FPS when tas...

Cheap, well performing graphics card

Anonymous, Newegg
14 December 2013
  • Summary: Usually the fan isn't too loud but when you do intense things, it can sound like a jet. Most of the time it stays below jet noise speed.
  • Pros: I needed a graphics card to run most games on high-ulta and this does the job. It's cheap and small (smaller then a lot of other cards) Dual fans for better cooling.
  • Cons: Sounds like a jet at 100% fan speed

Powerful, quiet, and cool

Adam F., Newegg
12 December 2013
  • Pros: Idling at 25C, and maxes out around 40-45C in a cramped Micro ATX case. This card is also very quiet, which is something I wasn't expecting. Sitting under my desk, I don't hear it at all unless I stick my head down there. Performs VERY well for the sale price of $150 I got it for. Guild Wars 2 av...
  • Cons: The HDMI port isn't centered in the bracket of the card. Instead, it's close to the top. While this may not be a problem for some people, I couldn't plug any of my HDMI cables into the port because of the way my case is made (small rib sticking up where the space has been bunched out, Antec VSK-3...

Good Card

Hythem R., Newegg
8 December 2013
  • Summary: I upgraded from a 4870 that was doing fine running things on medium (BF4), but with directx 11 being the new requirement had to upgrade. Hopefully this will remain relevant for the next 3-4 years. In fairness I think call of duty ghosts is glitchy and could have little to do with the card.
  • Pros: Plays BF4 and Crysis on Max settings... Plays Call of Duty Ghosts on high settings, not max settings.
  • Cons: Great card for right now, but not being able to play call of duty on max settings for a new card is worrisome that the next couple years of games may make this card obsolete. (and Im only using 1680x1050 resolution!)

Great little 7870 Ghz Ed.

Hugo R., Newegg
3 December 2013
  • Summary: i5 3750k @4Ghz, Asrock E3G3, MSI 7870 GE x2, NZXT Hale 650W
  • Pros: Single Card: Gets expected FPS playing games. Much quieter than previous XFX 6850s. Under gaming load and idle the temps are low and the noise are minimal. MSI Afterburner is the best bundled utility I've seen on a card. Very high underclocking/overclocking range as well as memory clock adjustmen...
  • Cons: Under 90%+ load the fans get audible. It's loud but the fans do their job keeping the cards cool (under 80°C at 70% fan speed). Aesthetics could be a little better. I get the cards under 99% load when ltc/btc mining.
