Summary: I waited for quite a while to recive this older card. The discription clearly said on amazon "new in box". I was amazed to see that the clear round circle tape was missing from the front tab of the box. No matter I opened it anyway. Thats when I knew somthing was seriously wrong. The black security tape came off way to easy. The unmissable presence of dust in the heat-sink sealed the deal. !Don't BE Fooled! They are selling used stuff.
Summary: This is still a pretty good video card, I bought it a year ago as a second card for my latest build. The cooler is especially nice, always kept the temps down in the 30s idle and mid 40s during full load. msi has documented how this card may be unlocked to a 6970 through their own BIOS, I can attest to the fact that it works. I successfully unlocked the shaders and overclocked the card to 6970 specs.
Summary: I bought this Video card to replace the Nvidia card that came with my Dell computer. The main reason for the change was to be able to connect 4 monitors. I have 2 monitors connected directly to the video card via DVI and the other 2 connected with a Active mini display port to DVI adapter. The card does not seem any louder than my previous card. It is really big, I could barely fit it in my case, I had to move some cables around, but it works.
Summary: I have been looking for a major overhaul for my gpu (old gpu was an hd 5670 which I paid $90 for) but I didnt want to spend some ridiculous amount of money (over $350) just for a graphics card and I found this for just a dollar short of $200 and it arrived a day earlier than the delivery estimate and it works absolutely fantastic! So much better than my old card. This runs crysis max setting at 35-40 fps while recording wih fraps! And 45-50 not recording!
Summary: I replaced my 2x Radeon HD 5950's with this. The twin cards were just producing too much heat and would cause my PC to shut down. Bought this card to replace it and I'm getting much better performance. Playing Skyrim on Ultra with no drop in frame rate. Also able to play SWTOR at High with avg 60+ frames per second. I'm very happy with this card and would recommend for anyone looking for a great, but inexpensive card.
Summary: Have been using this video card for a year now, has easily digested every game i've thrown at it with max graphics settings at 1080p resolution, almost never dropping below 60fps. Im a casual gamer, Ive been playing civilization V, Dishonoured, Fallout New Vegas, Diablo 3, Borderlands 2.
