Summary: -Installed Windows 7 Beta drivers from nVidia website, and Call of Duty 4 started going weird, with random textures and surfaces popping up all over the place. Reinstalled the drivers in Windows 7 from Add New Hardware, and everything works fine.
Pros: -Very fast -Although I missed the February MIR, still a good price.
Cons: -Fan is very loud until Windows starts up, and when waiting for the computer to Hibernate or go into Standby. -Card is huge - not even a friend's 8800 GTS was this big. Had to move Hard Drive to the adjacent bay to make room, especially since the PCI-E connector faces the front of the case. -Some...
Cons: 2 things to remember during install. 1). 6 pin power cable needed for complete install. Says so on the box, but NOT in installation instructions. Beware!!! 2). If new machine, or a rebuild (which mine was), and you are starting with XP SP1, finish loading XP SP2 at least before you load video dri...
Summary: Core i7, Asus P6T Deluxe MB, Corsair XMS3 3GB RAM, Vigor Monsoon III LT Dual CPU Cooler.
Pros: Nice card. So for so good and no issues. Seem run at about 47C when idle. I'm not a gamer and haven't stressed this card at all.
Cons: This card like many other mid to highend cards occupies two slots. Color's a bit ugly but hey, I don't have a windowed case anyway. However, maybe the color does complement the innards of the system when using windowed case.
Pros: It performed exactly as expected. I installed it in my wife's PC with Q6600 processor, 4 gig ram, and integrated main-board graphics. Before WoW would run well at medium settings but slowly at high settings. GTA4 and Crysis were unplayable. Now WoW runs completely smooth will the resolution and s...
Cons: It fit in my PC with large gaming case, but this card is huge and may not fit in a normal sized case.
Summary: Chose this over the newly offer ATI budget cards as review indicated it made mincemeat out of them for minimal additional expense. Card performs admirably for a sub-$100 card, however I expected better performance.
Summary: Updating the driver should be done anyway no matter if the card your get runs great right out of the box. No big deal just thought it should be know.
Pros: Took my pitiful 3DMark 06 score or 310(lol) to 5545(meh). Ran stable after driver update to lastest as of 3/30/08. Stock overclock is stable.
Cons: Before updating drivers it would glitch when loading 3D intensive apps including Solidworks, a 3D CAD program. Cant just blame drivers because I've heard of other cards working flawlessly without update.
Summary: Definitely a lot of bang for the buck. I say go for it.
Pros: Great price, easy to install. Bought two of these to replace an x1950pro. Getting decent scores in 3dmark06 (12.2k), although I do believe my processor is limiting the results. Runs well in 32 or 64 bit windows xp (I dual boot for no real reason). Crysis runs well at 4x AA and 1680x1050 - no real...
Cons: Had to back the memory clock speed down to get it to run stable for steam games (team fortress 2 and DoD). At first I thought it was SLI and disabled a card, but ended up being the other problem.
