Total crap

simple, Amazon
21 February 2016
  • Summary: Will be the last time I ever buy an MSI product. Two of two cards seemed to be defective. Instructions included did not detail the card in the package. The software included was worthless, unable to connect to internet and half the buttons did not respond.

Not recommended!

Crabby Cat, Amazon
3 October 2014
  • Summary: Less than 4 months later this card has died. No update can save you from the snowy pixels from Hell that appear on your screen. I had used this brand (Nvidia) before without issue, but that isn't the case here. What solves it? Buying another card!

don't buy

Brian, Amazon
22 March 2013
  • Summary: Waste of money; the card is horrible to install, and causes all of your other slots on your mobo not to show up anymore, and drops your windows score

Oversized heat sink won't allow it to fit

Ibrahim, Amazon
8 March 2013
  • Summary: This graphics card has a massive heat sink on it because they were to cheap to put a smaller heat sink with a fan. It will not fit in a normal PCIe space unless you have two additional slots next to it empty.

Needs PSU 350w or greater...

kyle h., Newegg
19 December 2012
  • Pros: Shipped on time. Easy change over on the low profile bracket.
  • Cons: Would've been nice if newegg or MSI websites had the required PSU specs on the page before I wasted my time buying a 300w PSU. Never again am I wasting my money here.

DELETED EMAILS

Herbert J., Newegg
29 September 2011
  • Summary: I sent an email to MSI as they requested in their June comments to my posting. I sent it with receipt and read returns and it is a good thing I did - I got an IMMEDIATE "reply" - They DELETED IT! Didn't even read the email - just deleted it! GREAT TECH SUPPORT MSI! ! !
  • Pros: NONE at this point - after almost 3 months I thought MSI would have current drivers that would work on their support website but they have made no effort to update this card.
  • Cons: MSI drivers will NOT load even from the website. Windows 7 64bit update does see the card but downloads "standard" VGA drivers which don't see my 22" widescreen LCD and gives me only the "standard" video configurations of 800x600, 1024x768, and 1280x1024 which makes the screen too large for comfort.

Headache after Headache

Herbert J., Newegg
29 June 2011
  • Summary: I ended up using an OLDER MSI 256mb video adapter that Microsoft saw CORRECTLY and loaded the right drivers so I could get better video. I had to get the system up and running to replace a system that died several weeks earlier. I had to run Windows 7's rating system to get my AERO to work.
  • Pros: NONE - it doesn't work!
  • Cons: 1st the CD that came with the Video Adapter could not be read in ANY of my systems! 2nd I went to the web site noted on the CD label and downloaded the "current" drivers there and they would not work. 3rd Windows 7 listed it as a Standard VGA Adapter and none of the downloaded inf files were acce...

what's wrong?

Daniel A., Newegg
6 March 2011
  • Summary: Supplied CD must be for 32bit system only - it loads but none of the options are accessible. Bot this card to watch directv no games. Live Update is very crude. No way to cancel downloads.
  • Pros: None yet.
  • Cons: Changed BIOS to recognize PCI-E port for video. Downloaded at least 6 programs from MSI. Impossible to know what is going on with Live Update. Video works but I suspect the old onboard video is somehow going thru the MSI card. All software says no MSI products in computer. Running Win 7 on HP Pav...
