GeForce GTX 760 round-up: ASUS vs. MSI vs. EVGA vs. Inno 3D
9 July 2013
Excerpt: Late last month, Nvidia launched the GeForce GTX 760, a new generation mid-range graphics card available for around 240 euros. You can find our in-depth review here. We already tested cards from MSI, EVGA and Inno3D for that review, but ASUS did not have a card for us at the time. By now we've had the opportunity to test an ASUS GeForce GTX 760, and the prices of the others are also available to us now.
Summary: In this follow-up evaluation to our initial
MSI N760 TF 2GD5/OC
video card review we looked at two important things. Firstly, we discussed on page 2 why we couldn't squeeze the Radeon HD 7950 Boost into the launch comparison. Therefore, we followed-up with added performance comparisons to that specific video card on page 3. Then we took our MSI N760 OC and overclocked it to its maximum potential on page 4.
Summary: We take the new MSI N760 TF 2GD5/OC video card and overclock it to its highest potential with MSI Afterburner. We don't stop there, we also overclock all the comparison cards to their highest potential, and see if the GTX 760 can still hold its own. We also compare performance with the Radeon HD 7950.
Summary: MSI recently has released the gaming edition graphics cards and is quickly releasing many SKUs based on that series. With success, as the design looks great, the cooling is awesome with low noise and very cool temperatures, but very important, these products are often merely a tenner more expensive opposed to the reference cards.
The release of the GeForce GTX 760 really isn't something new in terms of technology.
Nvidia GeForce GTX 760 review: boost for the mid-range segment
25 June 2013
Excerpt: It's been a busy month for Nvidia. On May 23 the GeForce GTX 780 was launched, a GTX Titan-based card that replaced the GTX 680. On May 30 the GeForce GTX 770 followed, a tuned GTX 680 that replaced the GTX 670. Today it's time for the GeForce GTX 760. It's based on the GTX 670, but it's positioned to replace the € 240 GeForce GTX 660 Ti.
Summary: MSI has once again produced a stellar video card with the MSI N760 TF 2GD5/OC. This gaming edition video card sports a healthy factory overclock. The Twin Frozr IV cooler works extremely well and keeps the GPU well cooled so that GPU Boost 2 can tap the potential of clock speed out of this video card. There is only one flaw, and that is the annoying process to remove the power connectors due to a very large heatpipe in the way.
Conclusion: Well, its time to wrap this party up. I have to admit that, after reading the NVIDIA press deck and then running the benchmarks I was a bit disappointed. NVIDIA seems to expect that this card will beat a HD 7950. As we can see from our results/benchmarks used, that isn’t true for the most part.
Summary: Today NVIDIA is launching the GeForce GTX 760. The GeForce GTX 760 will be replacing a video card and offering what use to be high-end memory performance, at a mainstream price. We will evaluate a retail MSI N760 TF 2GD5/OC video card with comparisons to find out whether or not this is a true value.
