Summary: Great card. Really needs to be properly water cooled to enjoy to its fullest potential. Great for FPS gaming. With the stock heat sink the gpu gets very hot even when the fan is placed on full speed. To fix this problem a well designed full water block will lower the temperatures and improve on general performance when over clocked.
Summary: With over four hundred entries, our giveaway of the MSI N470 GTX is more popular than dry ice at an overclocking convention. Before we announce the winner though, we chucked this card into our gaming PC to see what this baby could do. Read on to see why the 470 GTX solves all of the problems of its bigger brother, the 480 GTX, and delivers a compelling experience for those who demand high-end performance.
Summary: I've got 2 of these both overclocked to GTX480 speeds using MSI afterburner. They're amazingly fast but also extremely loud and really hot. At full fan speed, it sounds like a jumbo jet in a hurricane and I've seen the temps of the bottom card that doesn't get the direct air flow that the top card gets spike all the way up around 108*C. YIKES! 24 hour 3DMark torture testing though shows them to be completely stable with no artifacts or lock ups.
Summary: I bought this card to replacee a radeon 4670, I was especting a very significant performace iincrease, but I must say that I am not at all impress, I plaied Crysis with the radeon 4670 with modest setings, and so I spected the GTX 470 to allow me to play it max seetings, but that did not happen. If I knew then what I know now, I would have stick with the radeon 4670 as the GTX 470 did not impres by comparation, and it does consume significantly more power.
Summary: I bought this a while back for 299.00 with free shipping and game. I see its down a tad to about 250+ and am thinking about getting another when it hits 200 or so for sli. I like the speed and the softwear it comes with, though you will need to update it so you can use the voltage adjustment for overclocking. The only real con I have is that this thing gets hot! The stock blower gets loud over 70% speed and it still would hit close to 95 under full load.
Once the price drops to around 200 bucks this is a 5 star card
it's all gone to the dogs, Amazon

Summary: I ordered this from NewEgg, but I figured I'd throw my review here as well. Any way, it doesn't run much hotter than my 8800 GTS 640s did inside my CM Stacker 850, however I am running the 470 in a HAF X with a fan blowing directly to the card. Not sure how much of a difference that makes between the cases. My temps are 10-20 degrees cooler than a lot of sites like Toms and BitTech have been getting as well.
