Summary: Oh, the card/GPU works fine. MSI is getting only 1 star because of their underhanded Rebate tactics; this is the SECOND MSI PRODUCT where they've tried to disqualify paying the Rebate and caused MASSIVE trouble to jump thru their ridiculous hoop maze when they should've simply honored it as it WAS done completely, correctly, and on time. DO NOT BUY MSI products if there's a rebate involved; they'll just jerk you around. It's a HUGE SCAM !!!
Summary: I got this to play Crusader Kings II when I discovered my 4 yr old desktop has a PCIe x16 slot available. I was somewhat skeptical that the old machine would accept it, but I snapped it in, turned on the computer and it downloaded all the drivers automatically. Didn't require using the included driver CD. Restarted, and fired up the game and hey! It plays the way it's supposed to! No more waiting 2 seconds to respond after mouse clicks--extremely frustrating.
Summary: I bought this card from Tiger Direct. I have an HP Pavillion desktop with a Violet 6, 95 watt motherboard. I have 10 GB of RAM, and recently upgraded to a 650 watt power supply. I mainly use the computer for the Microsoft Flight Simulator and IL-Sturmovik: Cliffs of Dover flight simulator.
Summary: I tried to get my AM3470 Acer to work with this card. The machine would not find it. The tech folks at Nivida will tell you that this card requires 300 watts, but the PNY website claims that it requires 350 watts. Once I encountered problems, I started reading and found that I was not alone. Many bad reviews of Acer are the result of what people believe are their inadequate power supplies.
Summary: I thought the 4GB of memory would give me a performance boost. I was wrong. In fact, this card performed worse than the gt440 I was trying to replace on both the FurMark and 3DMark06 tests and while playing 2nd Life. Very disappointed.
