Summary: I got this to play Crusader Kings II when I discovered my 4 yr old desktop has a PCIe x16 slot available. I was somewhat skeptical that the old machine would accept it, but I snapped it in, turned on the computer and it downloaded all the drivers automatically. Didn't require using the included driver CD. Restarted, and fired up the game and hey! It plays the way it's supposed to! No more waiting 2 seconds to respond after mouse clicks--extremely frustrating.
Summary: I bought this card from Tiger Direct. I have an HP Pavillion desktop with a Violet 6, 95 watt motherboard. I have 10 GB of RAM, and recently upgraded to a 650 watt power supply. I mainly use the computer for the Microsoft Flight Simulator and IL-Sturmovik: Cliffs of Dover flight simulator.
Summary: I purchased this video card to work with video games that place a heavy load on the graphics card. It was easy to install, set up, and use. It has worked without a problem after many hours of video play. Great product!
Summary: I thought the 4GB of memory would give me a performance boost. I was wrong. In fact, this card performed worse than the gt440 I was trying to replace on both the FurMark and 3DMark06 tests and while playing 2nd Life. Very disappointed.
Summary: I tried to get my AM3470 Acer to work with this card. The machine would not find it. The tech folks at Nivida will tell you that this card requires 300 watts, but the PNY website claims that it requires 350 watts. Once I encountered problems, I started reading and found that I was not alone. Many bad reviews of Acer are the result of what people believe are their inadequate power supplies.
Summary: I looked for a graphics card that would match my kinda old PC and give it the best boost possible, and this fit the requirements. Runs relatively cool on graphics intense games like FFXIV:ARR and Dead Space 3 and it keeps up really well! Definitely a good buy for those who look for the best bang for their buck.
