Upgraded from NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT in MacPro 2,1 (late 2007)
1 August 2014
Summary: I bought this card to replace my stock NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT in my late 2007 MacPro 2,1. Once in place, everything booted right up on the first try. It was a flawless install. I noticed smoother graphics on my audio plug-ins, but it's not been a major performance leap.
Summary: Okay... so not EVERYBODY has the chops or the need to work on CAD and computer game designing for gamers... but given the fact that I was able to find not one (1) but two (2) of these identical CAM/CAD design video cards for under $40 a piece on eBay, what follows is pretty significant.
Summary: From the moment this card was on the market, the Nvidia Quadro FX4500 has been THE video card to have for those with graphics or CAD programs that demand high performance video. Able to drive 2 monitors of 20" to 30" in size, it can be "strapped" to a second card to drive 4 monitors.
