Summary: Less than a month and it already stopped working! Would definitely not suggest this video card. It performed well enough while it worked, but I wasn't even running it under stressful circumstances and it has already failed.
Summary: I RMA'd a video card over a month ago and I still do not have a working card. I paid to overnight it to them and they said they would do they same as this was for a time sensitive issue. They returned my card back to me it's the same exact card I sent them. The CS guy in California Option 4 told me this was standard procedure to just reissue the card. So i sent it back and they took 3 weeks holding it to send me low and behold the same card!
Summary: I received this graphics card, installed it into my computer, and then 2 months later my computer restarts and I am no longer receiving a video signal from the card. I replace my motherboard, power supply and still was unable to solve the problem. I replaced the video card with a downgrade, a radeon hd 6850 graphics card and everything worked fine.
Summary: Summary: Gigabyte 7970 broke after less than 45 days of use... warranty is useless caused intermittent black screen while it did work Won't accept a warranty return, claim there's an unwarrantable condition. Which is complete BS. This card spent its 45 days of unstable life (intermittent black screen) in a steel and plastic box, completely protected from the outside world. I wore gloves putting it in the case. There was nothing touching it.
Summary: This VERY EXPENSIVE card lasted about six weeks with normal use. It then burned up (literally sparks and flames coming out of it). No modifications were made. Card was just being used with normal default settings. Amazon will not replace it. Am currently attempting to navigate Gigabyte's VERY COMPLICATED return procedure. For the money I would buy ANY OTHER CARD BUT THIS ONE.
Summary: This card is rated for a PSU 600 watt power supply. I have a 850 watt Thermaltake power supply and it caused one problem right after another. Unexpected shutdowns and error messages. It may have been a a bad card but Amazon is GREAT when it comes to returns and they are quick! Best advice go for a 7950 core edition by XFX. No problems runs great and I'm running Hitman Absolution on 2xmsaa ultra settings and getting average fate rates of 58 FPS.
Summary: I have been using this card per 3 weeks, and yesterday i heard a weird noise coming out from case. Then i realized that was my GPU... The GPU makes a coil buzz while gaming (tested with Guild Wars 2, Bioshock Ifinite and Crysis 3), basically when the fans are running fast. I will request RMA service, never done this before so i need a hand from gigabyte or amazon >_<.
Summary: Unfortunately the card I received was DOA. (It also looked like the packaging had already been opened. Not the Amazon packaging, but the actual graphics card box.) Was going to use this card for gaming/mining. My computer would not post with this card installed and gave me a VGA error. (I have a Sabertooth 990fx board that has LEDs on it to show where the error is occurring.) I know it was not my board or my power supply.
Summary: For the cooler this thing has you would think it would overclock some. The card I got will not go to even a 25mhz extra on the core clock. All the reviews I read stated this has great cooling and oc ability. Couldn't be further from the truth. The voltage is locked and I did a little deeper research and the quality of these particular pcb's are lower on this model. If you do a google search other people have bought this card recently are having the same problems as me.
