This works and everything, but...

student, Amazon

  • Summary: As usual, Gigabyte's best cards are version 1. For version 2 and beyond, they start skimping on components/circuitry to cut costs and raise profits. If you plan on doing any cryptocurrency mining, all but the earliest version of this card are voltage locked. You can flash with an older bios to unlock, but then HDMI port gets disabled. If the card has an FT0 or newer bios, you cannot flash with the older F43 bios to voltage unlock it.

  • Summary: my specs are GIGABYTE GA-970A-D3 AM3+ AMD 970 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard, Antec High Current Gamer HCG-750, 80 PLUS BRONZE, 750 Watt Power Supply, AMD FD8320FRHKBOX FX-8320 FX-Series 8-Core Black Edition, 8g ram, alien cooling case tower and this card couldn't handle the sims 3 smoothly on medium resolution, or skyrim on high res, it died after 3 months.

  • Summary: It's Ridiculous that I have to find modified bios from a forum to unlock the voltage. The gigabyte support never gives any helpful response regarding this issue

Great graphics, not great compatibility.

  • Summary: I purchased this product in hopes of it being compatible with my Z77-DS3H motherboard, which is made by the same company. I invested hours into troubleshooting why it wouldn't boot up and display a signal to my monitor. I purchased a dual link DVI-D cable in hopes that somehow it would magically grant a signal to my monitor, it did not.

Good card, but with coil whine issues

canislupus, Amazon
29 May 2013
  • Summary: Let me explain my headline. This is a solid card, not the best 7950 but a very good one. I have in my poccession two of these cards, the one is the Rev 1.0 which I am about to return (6+6 pin power connectors), and the second is the Rev. 2.0 which has 1x8 pin and 1x6 pin power connectors. I asked for a replacement because my first one (Rev 1.0) had a coil whine issue (a very high pitched squicky noise was coming from the card when it was in use).

Die erste Defekt, die zweite mit Voltage-Lock

YuZ86, Amazon
3 April 2013
