Solid card for AGP

David E., Newegg
31 January 2013
  • Summary: If its the only thing you can get, go for it. If you have the option to grab an HD 4670 for a similar price though, I would recommend going for that.
  • Pros: Its a good card for older AGP systems. Don't expect anything amazing but it is a good upgrade for older systems.
  • Cons: The driver support from Gigabyte is absolutely horrible. You can't even install the latest ATI Catalyst drivers, you have to install Gigabytes drivers which are 4 years old. I would highly recommend the HD 4670 or HD 3850 if possible for AGP.

Multiple Outputs... Almost

Eric B., Newegg
9 December 2011
  • Summary: Other than a couple minor things, the card works great and is in a PC that runs 24/7 with no problems.
  • Pros: Installed easily. Nice to still be able to get AGP cards for surviving older PC's. I installed this in a "media server" minitower I have in a cabinet in the living room to display on the 55" HD TV and also serve as a perpetual slideshow on a 24" monitor I have mounted on the wall as as "digital f...
  • Cons: Drives both displays great, but for some reason, most resolutions on the actual monitor are smaller than the full screen (like it won't run 1920x1080 and fill the screen, it shrinks it with a black border around the edge about a half inch. I run it at the 13xx resolution with no problems. Other p...

Good card, Bad for my PC :S

Darci H., Newegg
5 December 2011
  • Summary: Well priced card, Take advantage of it, Don't skip it up, It was mainly my fault why I had so much trouble!
  • Pros: - Outstanding Card for the Price! - Very Slick Look to it! - Very quiet! - Well worth it.
  • Cons: - The case for the fan was a bit loose, Can easily be tightened, not worth taking that egg off. - Why was the egg taken off? The card requires a 6pin Molex Connector, Most computer have these just lying around in the case or whatever, But the manual doesn't say that it was required for it to run,...

Amazing AGP video card!! (Gigabyte)

Anonymous, Newegg
24 November 2011
  • Summary: Listen, considering the current money sitaution this thing was a blessing in disguise. Runs cool, awesome detail in games, etc. As a matter of fact, detail I've not seen before!! If you need an AGP8X card this is it! You'll be nickel and diming yourself to death trying others.....TRUST ME!!
  • Pros: I'm running a Dell Dimension 4600 and budget didn't include me getting a new tower any time soon! For thise in the same boat as me this card is a gem!! Easiest install I've done in a long time! Believe it or not, I used the driver CD that came with it despite popular opinion! It's golden! I was a...
  • Cons: The only beef I have here was the power cable department. The description claims a six pin deal when it was actually the usual four pin power port. IT DIDN'T INCLUDE A CABLE! Order an extension if you think your existing will be too short!!!! It's three bucks extra, get it! They don't include any...

This card RIPS!!

Christopher D., Newegg
22 November 2011
  • Summary: Had a little trouble get the HDMI audio working correctly. At first, was getting no sound, then after some tinkering, I got sound as 2.1 but not 5.1. Went searching on the 'net for fixes.....I tried once more downloading the updated drivers from ATI. Tried a known HD channel w/ 5.1 - PRESTO!!
  • Pros: Easy to install in my Dell Dimension 4600, card worked right from the get go. Drivers installed with ease, no errors, no BSOD, nothing........
  • Cons: HDMI connector is not positioned correctly for an easy connection. I had to take my dremel tool and shave down the side so it would fit in because the connection is too close to the case. What engineer designed it like this?!?!

AGP, yep they still make it

AF, Amazon
21 November 2011
  • Summary: I tuned my old XP box into a HTPC so i needed an AGP card with HDMI output and I was relieved this card was around. For the price you can get two or three PCIe cards but you get what you pay for and this is a great card.
