Pros: In the beginning the frame rates were decent
Cons: You name it. The weight of the cards are flat ridiculous., they literally pulled my PCI-e slot out of the motherboard. The heat was totally absurd and the cost was not worth it. Avoid at all costs
Summary: Bought this card as an upgrade to my aging EVGA GTX 570 HD. I do 3D and VFX work so I wanted a CUDA based card that would play well with Maya, Adobe products, and rendering programs like Bunkspeed. This card has done a fine job for the price.
Pros: Runs FX-heavy games and 3D apps with no problems. Never worry about frame rates again. ...probably.
Cons: Minor issues with heat. Video playback in #2 monitor goes wonky from time to time.
Summary: This is my third gigabyte card and I've never had a problem with any of them. I am running this card in sli with another Gigabyte GTX 680 on a coolermaster 850w power supply and I've had great results. I can play any game on highest settings at 2560x1400 and AA on with no problems at all.
Pros: This card is huge and looks awesome! Runs pretty cool and can pretty much handle any game at full settings. Runs great in SLI!
Cons: I'm not going to dock this an egg for this because it was an easy fix but upon first installation and boot up one of the fans on the cooler was making a super load whining noise. After I investigated I found out but just loosening the heatsink screws on the card that go into the fan resolved the ...
Summary: Be sure you have sufficient room in length and height to install this card, as it is a leviathan. This beast of a GPU weighs over 5lbs, so be sure to secure it tightly at the 3-slot mount and also use the provided rubber supports. There will be only minimal sag (about 1mm) if installed properly.
Pros: - Fastest factory overclock with a warranty - Excellent OpenGL performance - Very high quality construction - Unorthodox and impressive design - Runs very cool (36C idle, 68C after 30min running Furmark 100% load at factory overclocks)
Cons: - None, but if really pressed, perhaps noise (See Other Thoughts)
Summary: It does what I expected it to do. It's fast and I can max out most games I play. I wish I would have known about this noise before hand.
Pros: - fastest factory overclock you can get on a 680 at the moment. - seems stable and nvidia drivers are amazing. - coming from a 7970, this wasn't much of an upgrade. I just could not stand the drivers on my ati card any longer. This is a pleasant change.
Cons: HEAVY. It's so heavy that Gigabyte includes some rubber stands to hold the card up. I knew this before buying it, but this card is large and very heavy. The fans make a high pitch whistle which can be distracting. I did not know about this and was a little annoyed by it at first. I am thinking ab...
Pros: Opportunity to try this baby out however I never received the item. I give 5 eggs because it looked good on paper, and Newegg did everything they possibly could to make sure that the issue was taken care of to the best of their ability. Have been a customer for years and their quality customer se...
Summary: I want to get another of this beast in SLI but I'm afraid my 1000w PSU can't handle it...if Gigabyte engineers and tech support tell us how much Watts and Amps needed to run SLI with these beast. I'd get another one right away! My PSU 12V specs 4x 12V@54A combined 900w. Rosewill RBR-1000 80+ Bronze
Pros: Probably the best OC GTX 680 card I had so far. This thing doesn't exceed 50C under load and idles at 30C. The heatsink and shroud design is attractive! and those five fan do push quite some air and is silent compared to my case fans. Getting over 80-100FPS in 1080p gaming ultra in the latest har...
Cons: This card sags slightly under its own weight! the back-plate can use a higher gauge thickness than 16 gauge steel..at least 14 guage in thickness so it support itself without any additional bending itself under. 2 GB of VRAM is kinda outdated for a top of the line GTX 680 model a 4GB version woul...
Summary: If you can handle a big heavy card thats factory oc'd higher than some other 680's can manually oc. runs cool, and is very quiet...(to my AMD/ATI ears). then this is the card for you.
Pros: Very well made card. Replaced my HD 6950 2GB ref card that was bios flashed to 6970. I gave up on my AMD rig and swapped out all parts...to intel/nvidia. And I couldnt be more happy with this beast of a card. The fit and finish is great. Nothing bent or broken. Looks much better in person, but th...
Cons: None of these are really a con...just a little heads up. the card is big with a little extra weight. But if you are using a good quality card...hopefully you are also using a good quality case too. I mounted this card on an asus z77 sabertooth board. the plastic that covers the board makes it ver...
Summary: I truly amazed by what Gigabyte has done with the design. With the Windforce 5x Thermal Design this card only reaches 60C during heavy gaming. I switched over to the green team and I'm not looking back.
Pros: Huge factory Overclock, Dominates everything I throw at it on Ultra Settings with high FPS. Averaging 70-75fps in BF3 MP on Ultra. Can't wait to try out Farcry 3, but I'm enjoying BF3 a whole lot more since I installed this beast.
Cons: Not really a con but this beast is a monster. Make sure this card WILL FIT you case before purchasing. I have a Antec 1100 Super Mid Tower and this beauty fits real nice!
