Disappointed

Joseph T., Newegg
2 October 2012
  • Summary: I have two identical systems running these cards in SLI. So I own FOUR of them. Almost exactly at the 1 year mark I started experiencing very random hard freezes (reboot required) in games while running in SLI mode. Even while running the second card as just a Physx card.
  • Pros: Fast card, reasonable price.
  • Cons: In 2 of them the fan began to rattle at 70%+ speed after about 3 months. And card is breaking down and becoming more unstable month by month.

Good performance, terrible build quality, bad support

Jason M., Newegg
1 January 2012
  • Pros: The performance of the card is great, no complaints there.
  • Cons: I started experiencing a rather a rattling noise coming from the heatsink fan immediately. I contacted Gigabyte to see if they could mail me a new cooler and they refused. I offered to buy a new cooler, and they refused. I cannot RMA the device because I cannot afford to have my system down since...

Last Nvidia card I will ever buy

joe c., Newegg
14 December 2011
  • Summary: Because my EVGA 9600GT had heating issues I decided to bite the bullet and buy this card. Thought I was getting a great item! (I was wrong...) My configuration: Core I7 2600k - (Stock frequency) 16gb (4GBx4GB) DDR3-1333 DDR3 SDRAM (Stock frequency) 64gb Kingston SSD HD Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD3P-B3...
  • Pros: The card looks aesthetically awesome, and it does run very cool (55c max on full load)
  • Cons: The card is OK for high end games like BF3, but it shows signs that it is struggling to keep up. It does not feel like a high-end card when you use it. The card randomly fails while browsing the net (a known issue, but Nvidia does NOTHING about it) I cannot keep my computer at full 1920x1080 beca...

Complete and utter trash

Louish F., Newegg
13 October 2011
  • Summary: It's complete trash. Wish I didn't pick it out. Waiting on my refund to get a nice Radeon 6870. If I don't have to completely rebuild my rig because of this.
  • Pros: It looked nice
  • Cons: Came with out a bios on it, and then completely, plugged in old video card everything is messed up ; the corruption to this card spread deep, ever since plugging in this abomination, my computer has been nothing but paper weight with LEDs.

Likely defective hardware makes it unusable

Matthew M., Newegg
24 August 2011
  • Summary: The timing on this is a real bummer. I happen to have a week off from work before I start a new job, and I ordered this card as a celebration so that I could game during that time. I even paid for the expensive shipping so that I could have this card for the entire week.
  • Pros: Good looking card, nice specs. Looks like it would be a LOT of fun if it worked.
  • Cons: Whenever I try to run a game to actually use the card, after a few seconds to a few minutes my screen goes black and eventually reboots. It also seems to crash after my machine has been running for 10 - 20 min if Aero is enabled. I've tried the drivers that came in the box as well as at least fou...

Not impressed

Richard B., Newegg
7 August 2011
  • Summary: I was playing some WoW today and all of a sudden my screen randomly goes black, flickers to white and gray and then returns to the game screen. I was able to keep playing with no issues at all so I thought maybe the game had freaked out.
  • Pros: The card itself is very nice, it ran BFBC2 at max (left the AA at min though) and didn't even blink. It also stayed very cool due to the 2 huge fans, it never went above 50 under 60% load.
  • Cons: I have had it 3 days and it's fried (see other thoughts)

Unsure

Michael W., Newegg
26 July 2011
  • Summary: Guess I will have to RMA. This will be the first time I've ever had to send anything back. For my first Gigabyte product, I'm not impressed yet........
  • Pros: Good looking card with the wicked cooler and fans.
  • Cons: Something is wrong with mine, can't tell what though. Only gets about half the framerates of my old 8800 gts that I replaced with this thing. I have not changed the factory settings. I've tried the latest 275.33 drivers, and the 270.48 drivers that came with the card, but it still doesn't work ri...

BUYER BEWARE

Kevin Z., Newegg
16 July 2011
  • Pros: None
  • Cons: BUYER BEWARE Had to RMA my Gigabyte video card, received it back with no communication on what they did. Video card continually locks up during games and even at boot-up.
