Exellent budget card.

  • Summary: Works very well with an Intel Pentium G2030. (i assume i3 and above as well). This is the GeForce GT 640 Galaxy GC 1GB Edition its a special edition of the middle-class GeForce GT 640 2GB DDR3. This version comes overclocked out of the box in the core-clock that went from 900MHz to 950MHz. Most Benchmarks indicate a modest 2% performance boost when compared to the reference card. (quoted from game debate) in another words.

Low Power Consumption and Can Run Most Modern Games

Robert Timsah, Amazon
28 December 2014
  • Summary: I'd just built an office PC and was looking for the most affordable video card which would allow me to play Planetside 2 as well as continue using my existing 380 watts power supply - the Antec Earthwatts 380 watts power supply. This power supply is known to last forever. I also wanted a card which would NOT be loud! And so far I'm pleased. It's not real noisy, and quite frankly I can't hear it when I'm gaming.

  • Summary: Beyond satisfied! I have an old graphics card (gt 520, 2gb) and I was looking for a cheap boost for my games... With settings on medium-high I was getting frames per second (fps) ranging from 30-120 in games like Diablo 3 (32fps), World of Warcraft (120fps) and League of Legends (52-60fps). A very inexpensive upgrade for your basement gamer that could use an independent graphics card (GPU)!

Big boost for an old computer

Jdono624, Amazon
28 March 2014
  • Summary: I own a 4 year old HP computer with the graphics card built onto the motherboard. I'd been having performance issues running graphics and video editing software. My graphics rating was a 4.2. After the simple install of this graphics card, the rating jumped to a 7.1 and I've had a very noticeable improvement with the graphic heavy software. I don't know what it would do to help on-line gaming, but it's a huge improvement over the base computer I got off the shelf.

For my needs, excellent.

  • Summary: The Galaxy GeForce GT 640 GC is an excellent fit for my system. Raised my Windows Experience graphic score from 5.4 to 7.1, quite a jump. For photography and video editing, a top performer. I really don't use it for gaming, however, the demo games I downloaded were better than I expected. A good beginners card and a great fit for a good system.
