Summary: Blows the hot air out of the back (I needed this design because of my case). EVGA (like MSI and others I guess) supplies cool tools - an Overclock and monitor utility. It's been a long time since I bought a video card, so I was pleasantly surprised that this card dynamically clocks and adjusts voltage based on load. Regular web surfing and non-gaming has this card clocked around 135mhz and maybe 10-15 degrees over room temperature.
Summary: OK. I know people are having issues with performance in Watch Dogs. Here is my config for keeping the game looking amzing, 35-50 FPS without studder. The key is not to max out your GPU memory.
Pros: If a GTX 780 + is out of budget, this is the card for you! Powerful! Runs everything maxed at 1080P. Free Watch Dogs was a huge incentive to buy. I wanted this game anyway and with the promo the price was unbeatable.
Cons: Has Elpida RAM so extra overclockability is minimal. I didn't even bother for a few extra frames. Get some extra case fans. This beast runs warm. I hit 82C playing Watch Dogs.
Summary: Just a couple words 1) I use two monitors one DVI-Digital and one VGA 2) Check the connector positions. One of the DVI connectors is only Analog, while the other supports both. Plan ahead. 3) Only connect one monitor at first, get everything working then connect the second. Trust me this saves some grief. Outstanding performance.
Summary: Make sure you have the power supply to handle this crazy card. My friend has 2 asus hd7770 in crossfire and whenever we play games this card smokes his in frames and heat. Mine on average stays 15 degrees cooler than his at idle and about 5 at max gaming. Plays everything at max setting. Would definitely buy again. Would need 1200 watt or more power supply to run this in Sli Bridge with another though.
Summary: For most gamers, you will not need a stronger card than the GTX760. If you are gaming at 1920x1080 or 1920x1200, you won't need really need a better card. Most 2013 games can be run at maximum settings at 45+ fps if you skimp a bit on the anti-aliasing. The card struggles with the newer SSAA but the difference in quality compared with the old FXAA will not be noticeable for many people.
