Why did I get a "used" graphics card?

Extropian, Amazon
8 March 2014
  • Summary: For over $1000 I expected to get a brand new graphics card. The box look perfectly sealed, but the contents on the inside were previously opened. There is a sticker on the static bag and it was already ripped and the bags that carry the cables were also opened.

Not good for running 3 displays due to lack of ram

Mattty, Amazon
5 January 2013
  • Summary: This is a bad-as* card for single display's only. If you intend to run multiple displays for gaming this card is not for you. Each core is only limited to 2 Gig's of Video ram. This card ran out of video ram on games such as Max Payne 3 on three 23" LED's and the card was completely worthless with...

Sad that I did not get my coupon

Tommy L., Newegg
26 August 2012
  • Pros: It runs cool and pumps out good performance over my previous GTX 560 ti SLI.
  • Cons: My brother bought this for me as a welcome home gift. Sadly, my coupon did not come in it. Just a mouse pad, t shirt, and a poster. Pleased with the card's performance though, but looks like I will have to buy Borderlands out of pocket. You with think for something thats over a grand, that wouldn...

Low Power, Low Heat

Nick S., Newegg
19 August 2012
  • Pros: I replaced two 590's in SLI for 3 monitor surround setup. The room was very hot with very loud fan noise. Went to this single 690 hoping to solve that issue which it did, and did very well. My power consumption is a lot lower now and this thing is VERY quiet. My 1200w battery backup now can handl...
  • Cons: The thing studders in Diablo 3 at 5860x1080 and I have to run reduced settings. Every once in a while it gets me killed because it goes down to 1 frame a second. I did not have this problem with two 590's and I assume it's not because the card lacks power but some driver issue. The beta drivers d...

Follow up on my first review

Louis Y., Newegg
22 July 2012
  • Summary: I have went through a lot forums to find the average GPU clock speed of the GTX690, most of them are air cool. Looks like most can make it to 1700Mhz without much effort but mine cannot even made it to the 1035Mhz without crashings.
  • Pros: I add one more egg because both EVGA and Newegg have responsed to my review.
  • Cons: I still stuck with a top of the line expensive card that has no overclock headroom.

Issues with Display

Richard M. Eads, Amazon
3 July 2012
  • Summary: After about 15 days one of the three displays went out. After re-installing software and tech support it was determined to be a bad GPU. I was asked to send it back but they only give two options. Remove the video card and send it in having to wait 7 to 10 days plus return time.

jrw96, Amazon
3 July 2012
  • Summary: Two gtx 670's have the same potential as one 690. If your system allows, buy two 670's and save $300.
