Summary: it improves the performance of games to avoid compression. You will have to make sure your case is large enough to fit this card. This card is huge. EVGA cards run quiet and this one also has a set of 5 bright white leds on the card. It makes the card look cool. I am so happy with this card that I do not think I need to set up an SLI configuration to get better performance.
Summary: It is fast. but its driver incessantly collapses. I consult NVIDIA for help. They cannot solve it, so I have to return it for an exchange. If the new one gives me the same frustration, which I hope not, I will refund it and look for others. The new one is perfect, without any problems or glitches. Thank god.
Summary: I really wanted the 4GB of ram but should have known better than to get the blower style cooler. This thing sounds like a jet engine when its getting hot. The ability to OC this card is also poor. I know its luck of the draw but I had 2 of them and neither would do more than 100mhz. My Gigabyte 670s both ran faster than this 680 due to higher OC and were MUCH quieter and MUCH cooler.
Summary: I didn't measure correctly and ended up with a card I could not use, sadly. I did manage to sell it off on ebay rather than return it as it wasn't amazon's fault I didn't read correctly. For reference the case was a Fractal Design Define Mini, about .25" too long. I couldn't take out the drive cage as I was using it. Seems like it would be a great card though.
Summary: I received this item after about 5 days of order , what i expected is much more than what i get.. I used to have EVGA GTX 480 with 1.5GB DDR5 , its was very good and didnt had any problems or issues with almost any game, except those which is having alot of bugs and graphics issues so i expected this to be great and have much better performance with all games specially games like Rockstar and Crytek engine which both uses very heavy engines and got very complex textures...
Summary: I purchased this item for a new GTX 680 Signature 2 - the backplate aligns with the card - but the holes are not compatible. The Sig2 has smaller threaded holes - and according to EVGA support, you can only use the 4 spring loaded cpu screws to attach the plate. It works - but only with those 4 fasteners.
