Be careful as this card may not work with your monitor

Amazon Customer "jlb_2", Amazon

  • Summary: Would not work with my Apple Studio Display. Reading the forums I found that this is a known issue with no resolution. I got a Radeon 7950 and that card works perfectly.

Defective

Alexander V., Newegg
15 May 2013
  • Pros: Gnarly powerful card, if it worked.
  • Cons: Awaiting Metro Last Light, i decided to order a new card, seemed like a beast. After installing the card itself I did a clean install of Windows 7 ultimate x64. After playing Metro for about 5 minutes, blue(black screen, can't see) screen of death. Later i tried a game that didn't even use the gp...

Fast but unfixed SLI driver issues

Joshua W., Newegg
10 February 2013
  • Pros: The cards are fast and EVGA makes good products.
  • Cons: I bought these for SLI but wasted my money! There is a SLI driver issue for GTX 680's and it still has never been fixed. You'll see that PC manufacturers, such as Alienware, moved back to older cards because of this.

Worked at first, died very quickly thereafter

George K., Newegg
31 January 2013
  • Summary: The RMA process with EVGA has been great. They helped me test the system and gave me some potential solutions, and when we determined that it was definitely the card at fault, they took it back no questions asked. Now they are sending me an even better model than I originally bought.
  • Pros: Graphics look awesome with max settings. Great experience with customer support.
  • Cons: It worked for less than a day. I had just installed it and tried playing Black Ops II with full settings. After ~20mins of awesome gameplay my game crashed. I was never able to get more than 20 mins into a game before it crashed. Then the crashes started getting worse and it was bringing my whole...

Over Heated

Richard R., Newegg
12 January 2013
  • Pros: Work until it over heats I bought these cards for a new build after gaming on my Alienware/ Dell laptop for past 4.5 yrs. The Alienware has crossfire ATi cards and has worked well. I thought I would try SLI Geforce 680 to insure another 3 or 4 years of fun gaming, but! I think I might not make it...
  • Cons: After gaming for an hour or less the cards seem to lag out and not as responsive. I have PrecisionX running to monitor GPU Mhz ( 324 idle- 1024 full game; Frames 62 idle 199.1 full game(Not bad until!) Temp 42c idle 85c full game) Correct me if Im wrong but I was under the impression these cards ...

  • Pros: runs most games at 60 fps or greater.
  • Cons: I would not recommend these cards to anyone. After a few days of trying to run these cards in SLI I noticed video lag during games. For having 2 680 in SLI I dont expect to have any lag period!. I checked the forums and a few friends made some changes to try to improve the performance. Up dated d...

Hey Look! ,They sent me a used Card !

Michael S., Newegg
10 January 2013
  • Summary: The world of online PC component purchasing ,is a risky business. Half the stuff does not work , motherboards with bent cpu pins ,dead ram modules, dead graphics cards ,used items ,sold as new. It's a jungle out here !!!
  • Pros: The Price . I got it for $399 ,with 2 awesome games. Works as most of us know a GTX 680 does.Don't be put off by my 1 egg ,it is not for the quality of this product .It is for the fact that I was sent a used card ,that was supposed to be new.Using it SLI with a Galaxy GTX 680 ,on a Sabertooth Z77...
  • Cons: I got a scratched up ,used card . Judging from the amount of scratches ,it would almost lead me to believe this card may have been waterblocked, overclocked , overvolted, and G0& knows what else ! I can only hope that maybe it was tested by a tech, and everything checked out ok.

Good card, if it will work.

John T., Newegg
29 December 2012
  • Pros: It ran lots of games max settings with 60 FPS.
  • Cons: After about a week of having this in my computer it started to crash. At first it just crashed me from high GPU intensive games and gave me green lines and dots. Then Windows started to crash and it ultimately gave me a code 43 and now I can't use it all. I have tried everything possible and stil...

  • Summary: Spend a few extra dollars on a better card, I wouldn't exactly call this reliable.
  • Pros: Powerful of course, when it isn't broken anyways.
  • Cons: After only three hours playing Borderlands 2 there were flashing lines, splotches of green covering the screen, and then the screen would go red. Similar crashing happened in any game that wasn't in 2D.
