User Review

Josh L., Newegg

  • Summary: Buy this card if you are on a strict budget.
  • Pros: Pretty good graphics card for the money. I wasn't overly pleased with it because it is in fact a budget card and that's what you need to know when buying it. I got mine on sale ($90.00) when I built a budget system. Runs games on medium settings close to 60 FPS but not always quite there.
  • Cons: Has a mini hdmi port, which is annoying.

Nice "little" card

Torako, Amazon
12 September 2015
  • Summary: Great little card for medium budget gaming. Put this into a student built computer and it ran Final fantasy XIV with high settings with no problem. Nice size for the BitFenix Prodigy case I got so its great for HTPC's and small form factors. The fan is quiet and it has tons of outputs.

Suits my needs now and in the future.

  • Summary: Replaced two separate fanless 5450 (ATI?) video cards with this one GT640 card. I was having problems in Windows 7 running dual 24" monitors via DVI and the OS was taking the displays out of "Aero" mode with my old cards.

  • Summary: Works great... I would highly recommend folks completely uninstall all software for previous video card before attempting to any new video card... then verify it was uninstalled. Then delete files\directory that are leftover.

Great card for the money

Leonel Garcia, Amazon

  • Summary: Great purchase for the money. I play mostly Skyrim, Tomb Raider and Dragon Age Inquisition and they look pretty good with this card. My only complaint is that is not very compatible with Linux systems (I use a partition with Windows 7 for games and another with Fedora for work!).

Amazing

Logan D., Newegg
26 January 2015
  • Summary: EVGA sucks, and there costumer is bad if you need help call them don't email them or use any other form of communication, CALL them!!!
  • Pros: cheap and very powerful. can run most games on medium to high but not with a super great frame rate. if you can set it up it works great for not too demeaning games. games like Battlefield 4 are hard to run but is amazing for the price
  • Cons: hardest thing to install ever in my life, if you have windows 8 you have to change a start up setting, if you don't it up you will think its broken. and the driver download is super confusing. *INSTRUCTION MANUAL IS NOT INCLUDED

  • Summary: This improved my graphics only a little better than the native Intel Graphics on my i7 (maybe about 15-20% better), but since I installed it, it randomly turns the monitor off, about 3-5 times per day. I'm not sure if this is a power-saving mode, or an issue with my power supply.

Not Bad

Travis G., Newegg
6 September 2014
  • Summary: Not bad for a decent card to run games on, etc. TF2 is good on HIGH settings, etc. MineCraft, etc.. all work great.
  • Pros: Price - Small size - fairly quiet
  • Cons: Plays most games decent - some issues with Steam games on very high settings. Had to go back to HIGH settings.
