Summary: I bought this card to upgrade my older computer Compaq Presario SR5030NX with Windows Vista (32 bit). It works great. This is the best card my motherboard will support without a processor and psu upgrade as well. I am able to play WoW again. Although if you are looking for a graphics card that is support for WoW specifically know that this card has the bare minimum requirements for the game. For the money this graphics card is great.
Summary: After installing into my computer, this card has made a huge difference in the quality of my online gaming experience. I would recommend this product to anyone. I have an older computer and wasn't sure if it would fit but it does. It's a great card and great price.
Summary: I got this card to run under a Linux system and ATI's support for Linux is pretty poor. Have had LOTS of troubles trying to get it configured and working and the "Linux tools" that are supplied by ATI for it are undocumented and difficult to understand. I strongly recommend not buying ATI cards for Linux systems, nVidia is far better supported.
Summary: If you have an old Mother Bord with agp and you are not planning to buy a new one this is the video card to upgrade your pc. I used to have a Nvidea 5800 and I wasn't able to play Call of Duty 2 at high and it was a dream to play Call of Duty 4. With just the upgrade that this ATi represented I was able to play it on high and to play COD4 with everithing high.
Summary: ok so it's got better performance then the nvidia gforce fx5500 i had, of course it's all about twice the specs. the sofware that came in the CD for the gcar partially worked, so i downloaded the updated catalyst and driver now everything is ok. i'm a little decieved since my HP laptop came with a ATI GPU (radeon express 200M) and works VERY smoothly even though the framerates are low (20-40fps minimal video quality settings), and this x1600 pro is somewhat glitchy on...
Summary: For people with computers that still have AGP Slots The X1600 Pro with 512 mb might be the fastest card You can buy considering many new cards are PCI-E Only. This card might not be the fastest, but for casual gaming its very fast. I replaced my aging 6800 with 128 mb with this card and it improved framerates about 5-10 fps better.
Summary: Just let me start off saying the card itself is very fast. I just replaced a 9800pro and its night and day faster. The only issue i had was the heat that it generated. The card became quirky in World of Warcraft when it got hot. This was addressed when i cleaned up my drive cables and such to allow better airflow and changed out one of my fans to a higher volume fan. Its summer and the room was hot so its probably not all the cards fault.
Summary: Great value for someone without a PCI-E slot. Easy to install, smooth gaming experience. I haven't noticed the heat issues some of the other users have posted, but generally I don't play graphic-intensive games for longer than a few hours at a time. No complaints here about performance or price. A good buy.
