hmmm....is this really a 9800xt

C. Houseworth III "mad gamer", Amazon
5 January 2006
  • Summary: like the below stated, those speeds definatly are not 9800xt speeds or they are all not created equal as he stated. Overall the card is a big step up from the 9600se i had, but it would have been nice if it was a real 9800xt. core speed is only 393 and memory is 245 (490ddr).

ATI Radeon 9800 Pro Mac Edition Video Card works as expected.

Rick Billings, Amazon
28 July 2004
  • Summary: This card was used, but was clean for the most part. It works on my early 2005 Power Mac G5 as expected. I was a little surprised to find that instead of two DVI connectors, it had one DVI and one ADC port. I was able to find an ADC to DVI adapter at Walmart.com for about $25.

Great Buy

William Griffin, Amazon
28 July 2004
  • Summary: Great Buy!! I just upgraded my video card on my G4 PowerPC Mac from an older ATI 128 Rage Pro Card. This is a great great card, the picture is unbelievably sharp best that I have seen. It was very easy to install, took seconds, didn't need to use the manual.

Best for a G4 PowerMac

A. Rizo-patron, Amazon
28 July 2004
  • Summary: After hosing an NVidia GeForce 4600 Titanium 128MB graphics card and my 20" Apple cinemascope LCD monitor by trying a demo of Quake 4 without checking the specs more carefully (yes, it was truly a bonehead move), I looked around for the best possible replacement graphics card for my PowerMac G4...

A Great Buy.

h., Amazon
28 July 2004
  • Summary: I was looking to purchase a replacement for the ATI Radeon 9700 that my Apple G4 came equipped with. I had tried going with a safe and cheaper route with the 9200, that I still believed would function properly, but this was an obviously inferior card that was highly noticeable on crashes and freezes...

If you're a Qucksilver Mac User, this is as good as it gets.

J. S. Dennison, Amazon
28 July 2004
  • Summary: I use a Quicksilver (2002) Dual 1Ghz G4 Mac. this specific edition of the 9800 (which DOES have 256mb of vram) is the highest level video card you will be able to get for a Quicksilver mac. I used to be using a GeForce 4mx along with an old original Radeon PCI card.
