Worked for a long time...then...

Brian D., Newegg
17 July 2013
  • Pros: HDMI worked well on Windows 7 pro media center.
  • Cons: Then the thermal issue started to make the card continually crash during performance video playback. RUNS HOT! I replaced the heatsink compound and added a fan, which prolonged usefulness but it has gotten worse and I am going to replace it with an AMD chipset.

Low FPS

shizzum2, Amazon
26 December 2012
  • Summary: Ok so I got this and on the first day of use it tried to kill its self on heat and my TF2 game at low spec was terrible and at its lowest rate on idle with nothing running was sitting around 83 degrees and in game it pushed over 100 on low spec, I would strongly not recommend this product to any one...

Card was DOA

Kevin Kupka, Amazon
21 November 2012
  • Summary: I must have gotten a bad card. I swaped it with my current card (which still works, but has a noisy fan). The system never showed anything on the display. I think the system booted as the disk activity light flashed quite a bit, but I could never tell where it was at in the process.

Drivers and Utility does not install correctly

Chuck C., Newegg
5 October 2012
  • Pros: Required Field.
  • Cons: I purchased about 8 of these cards. Loading the drivers and utilities on XP machines has problems of some sort. Difficult to configure with dual monitors. One of the cards evidently is bad because it gives a green tint to everything on it.

Waste of money

Anonymous, Newegg
25 August 2012
  • Summary: I bought mine somewhere else. Spend a little more and get a much better card. You might want to get a nvidia card instead as they have better drivers. Get a card with a fan!
  • Pros: It's pretty good paper weight or door stop.
  • Cons: This card has abysmal performance. The integrated graphics on my G41 Intel board are just as good. Even the WEI score is the same. This thing runs extremely hot. It's so hot you would burn you fingers on it. BTW-My case has four 120MM fans, so you know it's a hot card.

  • Cons: it took me some time to figure out how to hook up the HDMI to the tv with sound working, but after installing the right drivers from ati's website it was a sinch.

Works with linux, inexpensive

Matteo F., Newegg
22 July 2012
  • Pros: Inexpensive card, works ok with linux.
  • Cons: This card reports PCI ID 1002:68e1, which is the PCI ID of a Manhattan Mobility HD5430 chip, whereas this card is a HD5450. Beware that linux gets confused and thus the power controls on the card do not work with stock linux kernel.
