Summary: After i baught this card i was excited to get a working machine for my neice. Everything in the system was tested working. However, after using this card for a few hours it light brightly with a spark and burnt itself out. I was dissapointed but i still had faith that ASUS would RMA it. However i was sorely mistaken. ASUS refused to accept the card since they claim it could not be the problem in the system.
Summary: I got this for my Acer slimline computer because my original graphics card fried. I think that slimline desktop computers are notorious for overheating and frying parts. Anyway, this performs good enough for me to play Skyrim and it is still working great after more than a year. Not to mention it looks kind of cool. I would recommend this for anyone wanting a step above integrated graphics.
Summary: Just installed new ASUS HD 5450 graphics card in 4 year old WinXP PC. Included VGA drivers would not load/recognize installed card! I had to download a separate DirectX driver...included driver would not load. WinXP recognized 5450 card as being installed...but the setup software would not! Default WinXP VGA driver did recognize card. Setup always crashed because "it could not recognize its own card!
Summary: Ok so I got this and on the first day of use it tried to kill its self on heat and my TF2 game at low spec was terrible and at its lowest rate on idle with nothing running was sitting around 83 degrees and in game it pushed over 100 on low spec, I would strongly not recommend this product to any one unless I wanted to give them hell the graphics card is god awful and overheats constantly even on idle which led me to worry it is terrible I have installed all requirements...
Summary: I must have gotten a bad card. I swaped it with my current card (which still works, but has a noisy fan). The system never showed anything on the display. I think the system booted as the disk activity light flashed quite a bit, but I could never tell where it was at in the process. Never got any beeps of any kind. Put the old card back in and the system was fine. SO, back it goes. At least Amazon makes returns easy.
Summary: pretty good graphics card for the price, but that said. "fanless" ha, more like fan dependent or im gonna smoke up on ya. this card most definitely requires some type of fan blowing air to it's heat sink. or it's gonna get really hot, and maybe a bit toasty. i reference this as a warning. i installed it with no fans attached and felt the heatsink with the side off of the computer chassis and damn near burned myself.
