Summary: Since I've gotten this card I've been able to max out pretty much everything with above 30-50 FPS, buttery smooth. The few exceptions being Crysis 3 and a few others, which seemed odd to me, but then again it's also odd for a SINGLE GPU to almost max Crysis 3 out on AA. The involvement of Mantle although is forgettable at best, the few games that do support it such as Thief (bleh) and BF4 seem to intentionally stunt performance to goad you into using it, because I've...
Summary: AMD has brought the awesomeness back with their R9 series. Some benchmarks put nvidia ahead in certian areas but to me the R9 series just looks better and more realistic. Perfomance wise it will handle everything you throw at it with all settings maxed, it is on par with nvidia cards that cost twice as much. Oh yeah if the game has Mantle support you are in for a treat!
Summary: Had to install an after market cooler because the temp would stay at 95 degrees and the frame rate of my game would get lower and lower... Probably would have been a great way to manage cooling if people would wait until games were ready before releasing them. Dragon age inquisition runs 50+fps on ultra 1080p mantle is awesome.
Summary: This is the first graphics card i have ever bought and i dont regret it for a second. The guy who was helping me pick out all my parts made a great suggestion. I dont have any complaints except for one. It would be nice if Asus included a hdmi cable or a warning on the box that says an hdmi cable is needed. I had my monitor plugged into my motherboard and it was only pushing out about 25fps.
Summary: I'm not a hardcore full-time gamer. I just want a budget PC that can play the newest games on at least Medium to High settings. When I bought my R9 290X I wasn't expecting too much from it. I sure was wrong; I got way more then I payed for. It plays just about any new title on High to Ultra settings. When the next generation comes out, I plan on upgrading to it.
Summary: There were so many cards to choose from for my build, but my experience with ASUS is incredible, and with AMD attached to it, I knew it was going to be a great build. So far the computer is running flawless and is blazing fast.
