Driver problems

Donny C., Newegg
17 July 2015
  • Summary: With the new drivers most things work now. I still don't play games that much because it is just frustrating. I can't afford a replacement so I just stopped playing games at all. Arkam city and saints row work well it seems though. I have had this card 3 years and otherwise no complaints.
  • Pros: ASUS. I will buy ASUS again, but it will be Nvidia. The card is quite, reliable and cool. Video editing and GPU accelerated computing seem rock solid so far.
  • Cons: Drivers are trash. The new AMD driver rollout scheme seems to be producing better drivers now but 3d and even some 2d applications are unstable. GSOD and just last week a BSOD. I am confident the drivers are to blame because the problem is reduced with every other update. It was a nightmare track...

Runs great till it doesn't

Jim V., Newegg
12 October 2013
  • Summary: Card is very long (11")
  • Pros: Runs great until it causes a bluescreen restart.
  • Cons: After installing card: During 3D applications I will randomly receive a black lockup that causes a reboot. Windows comes back with a 0x124 BCCode. The problem has gotten more frequent as time has passed. I have updated drivers, disabled all overclocking/overdrive, purged any and all old drivers, ...

DOA and had to pay return shipping...

Brett B., Newegg
11 October 2013
  • Summary: When I recieved the card it was DOA, I then had to jump through many hurdles to get in touch with new egg to return this beast. I then had to pay return shipping on a card that I recieved dead out of the box. This is my first time with an unpleasant experience from new egg...and hopefully the last.
  • Pros: This card has some pretty good reviews out there and I've seen some pretty decent benchmarks. Shipping was actually pretty fast. Got the 4-7 day saver but card arrived in 3.
  • Cons: The card is pretty large and bulky.

For Real!?

Justin M., Newegg
18 June 2013
  • Summary: $450 paper weight
  • Pros: All 3 of my screens display without problems. Normal apps run without artifacts. Stays cool for the most part.
  • Cons: Games are constantly crashing. Thought at first it was a driver issue. I updated still it's happening. I even waited for a new version. No go. Called up ASUS to get a replacement. I kept getting phone runn around. Even after I explained to them that i never OC and that thee card is registered wit...

Follow Up

Grant G., Newegg
12 May 2013
  • Summary: Just wait till the next series comes out.
  • Pros: Well, it runs...
  • Cons: I don't know if it's just the drivers or what. I get artifacting often and BF3 crashes about 1 in 4 games. I upgraded from the ASUS 6950 2GB card and never had any problems like this. Can't record anymore because of the terrible artifacting. I'm pretty disappointed so far with this card. Hopefull...

DOA!!!

Benjamin M., Newegg
15 August 2012
  • Summary: Newegg is a wonderful company that has always done right by me! Asus and their customer service on the other hand is a totally different story! They should know better, and do something about their current policy's and returns so that they can keep what customers they still have!
  • Pros: I've seen this card work on a friends system, and it is fantastic! The housing is built very well!
  • Cons: Well it was DOA right out of the box! I know what this card is capable of, and it's worth it. I'm a little peeved that it was DOA, hence the 2 eggs. I'm not gonna gripe about the price, what you pay for is what you get. But in my purchase that was not the case. The other con is that it is huge, i...

Fast card, kind of

Tyler T., Newegg
24 July 2012
  • Summary: Don't get me wrong, this is a fast card. Get it if you are using a 60hz monitor, but if you are gaming on a 120hz save yourself some trouble and just get a 680 or 670
  • Pros: Very fast, if you are using a 60hz monitor
  • Cons: I got this card for my ASUS 23 inch 120hz monitor, thinking 120hz would indeed work. Instead, it will only allows me to use settings up to 60hz. It makes games hard to play for me because I have over time become used to playing games around the 100hz mark.

Dunno...

W I., Newegg
3 May 2012
  • Pros: Looks cool, nice port selectionsin back
  • Cons: Just been having issues with it, tired of trying to get it to work with all the tearing, BSOD etc. Seems this model is a problem child, so going to get a different version of it.
