Summary: The Holy Grail of Home Computers is the PC that can serve up content to the big screen TV or monitor, yet sit unobtrusively cranking out pixels while not blasting cooling air onto the over-worked video card. Most systems fail at this because the heat generated to pump out MP4 or Blu-Ray content may overtax many inexpensive, underbuilt home computers.
Summary: I really like ASUS & Nvidia, so when I needed to upgrade my graphics card, I didn't hesitate to look for both. When I saw a 2GB card that had NO fan, I was ecstatic! It runs well, the heat sink dissipates the heat evenly, and best of all, makes for a more quiet computing experience. Awesome card, and would definitely buy it again!
Summary: Pros: -Fanless--no noise! -Good graphics processing -GUI for tweaking graphics--may want to disable for faster startup, but it is a nice touch. Cons: -Using HDMI can take over the audio driver, especially if your monitor has a headphone output (like my Dell S2240T does)--audio quality is hilariously bad.
Summary: Make sure your case has some spare room around the area your card is going, the heat sinks are on the bigger side as they are passively cooled, in one rig I had to remove one "Fin" from the heat sink in order for it to clear the CPU cooler.
Pros: Have purchased 3 of these for use in our Office as our machines needed to able to have Dual Monitors running. The machines we use are pretty old and they all had Zero issues with these cards.
Summary: ASUS processed my rebate form even though I sent the materials about 2 days late. I didn't expect that, so here I am writing this glowing review. Well done, ASUS.
Pros: Silent, delivers on promise to playback HD content under Linux. Using Ubuntu 12.04 with NVIDIA 304.?? drivers (whatever's in the repos). Doesn't even seem to really heat up past 50 C, maybe less. I'm using it with a Panasonic 720p projector via HDMI, if that helps.
Summary: I had to replace my old broken graphic card. Good replacement, works just fine if you're not looking for great performances but still want to save some money and have a decent product. The cooler has no fan so if you work with audio (like me) you won't have any background noise coming from this card. Also, in my opinion Asus is a good brand for computer hardware, you never go wrong with it. If you're a video gamer this is not what you need unless you play older games.
Summary: I stream to my HDTV using Chromecast and this is working great. Setup was automatic using Windows 8 and it runs fine. I can operate my computer from my tv screen with it mouse and all . I am happy with this card and it was not too high priced.
