Amazing card

Andrew B., Newegg
20 February 2012
  • Summary: Cant wait to buy a 2nd one and SLI! I know i havent had it long but considering its a used card i imagine its been in use for a while and its still kicking hard! If anything goes wrong i will make a full update. ( But i dont think we have to worry about that :D )
  • Pros: This card is down right amazing. I bought it used over a week ago and it runs any game i throw at it on ultra no problem. (ex. Modern Warfare 3) Kingdoms of amalur reckoning and many others) The fan isnt that loud on max at all i can hear it but its not like some crazy unbearable noise. I know th...
  • Cons: I had some trouble with the color, it was looking really dull and foggy. Didnt expect anything great from a older card but that was kinda weird. But i did manage to fix it. I just went to the Nvida Control Panel, Under Display- Adjust Desktop Color Setting, and i changed the Digital Color Format ...

Nice When It Works

Benjamin L., Newegg
30 May 2011
  • Summary: Works pretty good if you don't mind an RMA after first year and then every 3 months thereafter.
  • Pros: Inexpensive Plays most games at max settings well
  • Cons: Breaks after about a year. I had mine about a year and it simply stopped working. RMA process took about 3 weeks including delivery times. Got it back "Repaired" from RMA and it worked well... for about 3 months. Now it's broken again. Current plan is to buy a new card (not Asus).

FAIL!

Anonymous, Newegg
9 February 2011
  • Summary: If you found one of these cards somewhere stay away! At least new egg is not selling them anymore. Just glad you can still find the reviews. to bad I bought it before we all knew how bad it was :/
  • Pros: Would have been perfectly happy with this card, but it died... twice!
  • Cons: It died... twice! first attempt at rma and the card didn't work. sent it back immediately and got it back "repaired". Put it in a new build for my daughter, in a case with better airflow thinking heat might be the cause. less than a year later it is dead again!. Going through rma process again, a...

GTS250 WoW!

David L., Newegg
13 August 2010
  • Summary: Upgraded from an Asus 9600GT 512MB. I noticed a 30% to 40% increase in performance with this card over my older 9600GT card. This card is a great performer for the price. This card can handle any game in 1680x1050 resolution max details no problems!
  • Pros: Price, low temps!
  • Cons: None (didn't care for the cheezy WoW door hanger though)

Doing fine

Eileen S., Newegg
28 July 2010
  • Summary: I've been buying Asus via Newegg for some time now, and neither has let me down yet. I know there are some bad reviews here, but DOA happens sometimes, and I guess I've been lucky there. The "Bang for the buck" meter is pretty good on this one.
  • Pros: After about 3 months, this card is moving along well. It handles Mass Effect 2 great, even flawlessly I'd say. Star Trek Online is easy. Warcraft's not as easy, not sure why that always is, as WoW is now over 5 years old (volume of characters onscreen, I suspect). But Wintergrasp runs as smoothly...
  • Cons: It's warm out, and this guy heats up more than my 8800GT. Naturally, it's really, really warm out in July, and the place is well insulated, so it's trapping all that heat and building on it. But still, it's a possible Con for some. If you have a good air conditioner or don't mind stifling warmth ...

Great cards for SLI

David S., Newegg
8 July 2010
  • Summary: Works great in triple SLI. I haven't see any game that could make this game pause or lag. I get a constant 80-150 fr in BFBC2. If you need some good cards for SSLI and don't wanna spend 1000 bux then these are the ones for you!
  • Pros: Pretty quiet cards. Totally faster than my old 9600GTs. I run every game on high and get no lag and Battlefield Bad Company 2 looks awesome and I've never had any video lag in any game yet. Even Age of Conan. Works great!
  • Cons: None really, other than the fact that they don't come with double or triple sli cables.

User Review

Yutong P., Newegg
3 July 2010
  • Summary: By "completely stopped working", I mean the motherboard can't even detect it during boot up. My motherboard does not have an on-board chip. My desktop hasn't been able to print a single pixel to my screen for a whole month.
  • Pros: Worked fine for the first 10 months. Not too loud in my opinion. Not in one of those plastic shells that looks like it's designed to overheat on purpose.
  • Cons: Completely stopped working in less than 1 year. Send it through RMA, 2 weeks before reply, 2 weeks of repair, plus shipping time in the middle. After a whole month of waiting, ASUS mailed it back and it's still broken. I don't know what they were doing for their "repair" and "final testing" porti...

Great Card, Awful Fan

Olivia V., Newegg
20 June 2010
  • Pros: The ENGTS250 was the first HDMI-Ready Video Card that I owned, so unfortunately I cannot compare it to other cards in the market. What I do know is that I was able to play all my video games (EVE, TF2, Shattered Horizons) at high-medium to high settings with no problems.
  • Cons: The bad side is that the fan is not silent at all. The fan sounds like a car idling and when it get to max settings gets closer to a vacuum cleaner in sound. The fan also did almost nothing for the temperatures the card will get to while gaming or just watching videos. I put a Zalman VGA fan on t...
