Summary: There are newer cards that run Direct X 11 for less, so, not certain why you'd be looking at this direct X 10 card (I just came to refresh my memory about its connectors). Old tech, but even so, I like this card. I didn't even use the Nvidia software. Windows 7 recognized it and I was up and running. The card is very quiet and has a terrific heat sink sollution.
Summary: I have had 2 of these cards in different computers. The first one failed within one month. Initially they would not replace it and it took them over a month to tell me they couldn't repair it. Then they had to "find" a card to replace it with as they didn't have any more. You would think the factory would have one. It took six weeks to get this resolved, six weeks without my computer. They sent one back with different ports but that was fine.
Summary: Noise was the main factor when I bought this video card. In almost all reviews, this card was rated as "low noise" and "quiet". To my surprise, the noise level from this card was very high. I tried to slow down the fan speed with ASUS Smartdoctor included software, but this software only allowed me to slow it down to a certain, still high, level. I tried Rivatuner, and could slow the fan down to 25%, but still the noise was too high for me.
