  • Excerpt: An unfortunate side effect of many of today's high-performing PC peripherals is significant heat output. The need to tame this heat has led to bigger, and unfortunately, louder cooling solutions, which is something we at HotHardware are very familiar with. With the number of fans we have in some of our test systems, you'd think we were trying to keep the fires of hell at bay.

  • Conclusion: NVIDIA's GeForce 6600 GT cards have been out for a while and by all accounts, it has been a runaway success in its market segment. It may not be in its twilight years yet, as NVIDIA does not have any lower end GeForce 7 cards at the moment, but it will inevitably face competition from higher end cards that have fallen in price and the new generation of cards from ATI as well.

  • Conclusion: Another middle line performance card has been introduced into the market by ASUS, the N6600GT Silencer. A standard PCI-E interface, SLI enabled card, the Silencer is sure to please the end user who is looking for good performance and low noise (no noise to be exact), from a graphics card.
