Died in one week
Brendon H., Newegg
22 February 2016
Summary: It was an amazing card...while it lasted, which was barely a week. I have shipped it back to Newegg and am awaiting replacement. I will update with 5 eggs if it manages to survive after coming back. UPDATE - Five years later, but I am changing this to 5 eggs, as promised haha.
Pros: Amazing performance, cool and quiet even under full load. This card blew away every game I threw at it on maximum resolution and settings, including Battlefield 3 and Skyrim, and didn't flinch at Furmark.
Cons: One week after I put together my new computer with this card, in the middle of a game the computer froze up and restarted. Since then, the system would not boot with this card installed. I yanked it and put it an old GTS 250, and it boots fine.
Summary: Shouldn't use this VCard on a vertical case. After more than a year I noticed the videocard leaning downwards, then I noticed I could push it up and down with little force despite been tightly screw-ed. So I decided to lean my case horizontally. Gave it only 3 starts because of this.
Pros: Has been running for almost 2 years with great performance and no heat problems.
Cons: - Size: It reaches way past the motherboard, which can mean blocking the SATA ports making it difficult to switch them.
Summary: Wolfenstinow y its inactive. Its a great product and I would rather have one great card than sli 2 decent ones. Would get this card again if it goes active.
Pros: Easy install, great performance. This card does ANY game full settings. I love nvidia and will never go back to ati... I've played wow, call of duty mw3, battlefield 3, portal 2, crisis 1 and 2. It just tears up the competition.
Cons: As far as the mechanics, nothing! Its a great beasty graphics card. But it is huge.... I had to cut out a hard drive slot to get this bad boy to fit in. Just uy a big case or prepare to modify.
Summary: I sent out my video card to Asus on march 8th via UPS. First off when it gets there Asus never notifies me. I had to do some searching to find that part out. Then it just sits there in 'repair' for 2.5 weeks. Then that status says complete and it sits there for another 1.5 weeks saying 'complete'.
Pros: When the card behaves then it is great. I run Final Fantasy 14 at 1920x1200 with everything maxed except for Anti-Aliasing which I put on x2.
Cons: I've owned this for over a year now and I finally got around to checking user reviews and I am having the same issues as they are. The card I got artifacted a lot even under normal temps from time to time. Dealing with Asus support has been horrible. I had good things to say about them before my ...
Summary: RMA was very fast in response and very little hassle. The customer support on getting the problem taken care of was extremely professional... thank you newegg. 1 star for teh defective card, 2 extra stars for the support.
Summary: Its a great looking card and has some really nice reivews. I bought it because I'm not looking to SLI and wanted something that will OC well and hold low temps. However.. there are a lot of people who are having issues with this card.
Pros: Looks nice, ran cool with low temps and ran pretty well.
Cons: Only lasted 2 days.. I was working so really only got about 8 hours of use from it.. if that. Card started showing artifacts and tearing and then bluescreened and refused to load windows and would just get caught in a loop where it would crash my pc, it would reboot only to crash again trying to ...
Summary: Do not let the 1.5gb video memory scare you. I know a lot of newer cards are boasting higher memory but the trade off of cooling and the ability to overclock and manage this card more than makes up for it. Even under max load of Battlefield 3 my GPU monitor says I am using 1/3 of the cards ability.
Pros: I can't seem to scare this thing. I have run everything from Battlefield 3 at max settings to the new Kingdoms of Amalur as well as 3 screen multi set up running games/vids on multi screens and it won't even stutter. I was a bit scared at first of buying this card when looking around but now that...
Cons: As others have said the size is somewhat a problem. I have a Dragon Rider case that I used to build this system, which is a very large case and I can't actually close the side door using the stock 220mm fan on the case. I had to modular out the side panel with 120mm fans to work around the GPU PC...
