Summary: After searching and researching video/graphics cards for use with a 3D Computer Program, I basically went with this ASUS-Nvidia card because i built the PC on an ASUS MA785-M mobo-i knew NOTHING about graphics cards to purchase one, but was strongly advised to add one to the mobo, even though i thought it should work w/the on-board graphics... uhhhhh NO!!! MAJOR GRAPHICS in Maya. So, it works great for any 3D Animation, gaming, or whatever you are doing.
Summary: This card is awesome. I added it to my fathers computer. You can immediately see the difference. I recently installed Windows 7 and man is it crisp. This card lived up to the reviews and is definitely worth the money. For all of those non-computer savvy people, be sure to match your motherboards specs to that of this card before buying. Installing a non-compatible video card could do some damage to your motherboard. In conclusion...EXCELLENT BUY!!!
Summary: I'm using this card for editing photos in Photoshop. It is completely silent (no fan) and gives a very crisp image. For reasons too complex to explain here, the operating system that I'm using is Windows Server 2003. I had an installation problem with the drivers CD that Asus supplied with the card (installer kept crashing). So I downloaded 8400GS drivers from the GeForce web site and they work fine.
Summary: I bought this card because the present video card fan was getting annoying. I saw this model was available and did some research as to how it might perform. It is silent. After hearing the fan from the other card for a year and then putting this one in, I am happy.
