Impressed with Heat & Performance

Ryan E., Newegg
1 April 2012
  • Summary: The Ubuntu 11.10 install went easy enough, but having to guess which HDMI controller it was took a while. Disabled your onboard Audio to be safe.
  • Pros: I bought this card to convert my server to a media center with XBMC. This card handles VDPAU flawlessly and only gets up to about ~55c under x264 1080p video. It running in Ubuntu 11.10, and I had to 'guess' which audio uption is was (it listed 5) for HDMI audio, but it works great.

So far so good

George C., Newegg
24 January 2012
  • Summary: I'm not a gamer so take that under advisement. Tested under Ubuntu 11.10 64-bit, Porteus 1.1 32-bit, Extreme Edition 2.9 64-bit flavors of Linux with flawless results. Comes with Windows drivers as well if that's your thing. I haven't tested on bare metal windows although I'm sure you can find reviewers who have.
  • Pros: Very quiet. No fan to fail. Well manufactured. Works perfectly for my needs.
  • Cons: None.
