Good card, whether overclocked or not. XD

  • Summary: When I got this card, it was used, and came with a flashed BIOS from the 5870. It runs like a champ, and has yet to choke when I run it. Plan to shop for 2 more to finalize my rig.

UPGRADING From GTS 8800 TO Radeon 5850

usdevildoggmc, Ebay
6 December 2010
  • Summary: PROS: Okay I previously ran my system on an 8800GTS Nvidia GPU. I knew I had to upgrade soon and being able to afford it I did my research and could not keep my eyes off of this particular product... 8800 GTS Ran all the games I ever wanted to play smoothly but after installing this card I experienced ZERO lag on high settings with every single game while keeping the temperature of the GPU very low, For example DIRT 2 Ran perfect and now I want to play all my old games...

ASUS ATI Radeon HD 5850 1GB Ram

saugeye_fisherman, Ebay
4 June 2010
  • Summary: I heard good things about the ASUS ATI Radeon HD 5850 with 1GB Ram video card, so I purchased one off of Ebay and I was shocked at the power this card has. I bought the video game (Battlefield Bad Company 2) which I heard was a real good test to check out the power of a video card. I set all of the items of the video game to maximum and was shocked. There was no delay, lag, hesitation what so ever with this video card.

User Review

  • Conclusion: It may have been a few months since AMD released its latest HD 5000 series, but I still haven’t gotten over the initial “Damn, what a great card” feeling. There’s no real competition at the high-end right now, and in some ways, it’s unfortunate. The main reason for that is thanks to none other than availability.
  • Pros: It’s, Priced well at ~$259 – $300., Runs cool, doesn’t get too hot when maxed out., Power consumption is superb, at idle and load., Overclocks well, ASUS’ voltage tool is a nice touch.
  • Cons: Availability.

Brilliant, ATi/AMD is King!

  • Summary: I bought this to upgrade from an ATi HD5670 because I wanted some more grunt, and Oh boy grunt does this thing have! Combined with an AMD Phenom II X4 955 3.2Ghz) It's a complete screamer and a HUGE upgrade over the 512MB 5670. Things to consider before you buy: -You MUST have a quality PSU of at least 500Watts (mine is Corsair GS600). -It's a lot bigger than lower end cards so it will not fit in smaller cases.
