  • Sound problem with HDMI cable

As soon as I connect the HDMI adapter to the display adapters backside, sound goes mute.. anybody got any idea about what might be causing it? I've got an ASUS motherboard with Intel integrated sound.. and as soon as I detach the HDMI, sound comes back - so I can't watch dvd's on the big TV, and that really sucks ass.
