Summary: My wife bought this sat nav when shep was a pup and like everything it eventually fell over. We then bought a Garmin and it fell over about two weeks after the guarantee ran out. Out of curiosity I plugged in the Garmin in car charger into the Michelin and hey presto it worked perfectly and still does. Great piece of kit. Only problem I now have is I have lost the windscreen holder. Anyone out there got one they don't need?
Summary: I realise that there is not much point in leaving a review for a product that is no longer sold, but for those of you that are considering buying it used: - this is a well-built, tough satnav that finds its way around most of Europe. I have dropped mine at least a dozen times, it can become dirty, nor does it fall off the windscreen when it's freezing cold outside, but the heating's on inside! - the device is also very quick.
The worse NAV systeem ever ! Its a crime, its pure theft !

Summary: How do you rate this item? >>>>>>>>>> 0,0000000000001 STAR ! I contacted the CS from Michelin yesterday abouth my X950T bought in 2008 about a MAP update ! This is what I get back "We would like to let you know first that our after sales department is only available by e-mail correspondence. Following your update request, we can confirm that ViaMichelin ceased all GPS activity in 2008 and is no longer able to provide mapping adjustments for ViaMichelin GPS devices.
Summary: Probably the worst SAT NAV in the World. If it is all you can afford, buy a map. I purchased the top of the range via Michelin when they first came out, and it cost nearly £300.00. What a waste of money. The guarantee was not worth the paper that it was printed on, and Michelin were less than helpful. Within the year it bust, and despite it going back it never worked again.
Summary: Got this when in Europe alot, and was impressed by the support: real people on the phone, when you worked out how to call. Lots of niggles but lots of consolations (it was pretty top-end after all). I especially like to navigate each junction with an inset mini-map: Of course that made the wrong-sliproads-then-u-turn-on-motorways and off-only-to-get-straight-back-on-motorway nonsense unforgiveable!
Summary: Search a little and you will discover that Michelin have stopped making satnav systems so even they have realised how poor they were!! Poor battery , poor POI availability and poor guidance. Obviously as they have stopped production they have also stopped support / updating their products , i managed to download an update and new map but it was still dreadful I gave in and sold it at a loss on Ebay in the end. AVOID!!
Summary: I bought this Sat Nav, and am now returning it for a refund. It did not serve its purpose at all. I carefully read the instructions and did everything properly and it simply doesn't give any vaguely helpful navigation. It only occasionally correctly identified my location and gave relevant instructions. Even then, instruction would be frozen on the screen for a long time after I'd followed it and would only update after 10-15 minutes, which is too late!
Summary: I'm was quite surprised when I read the comments by the other reviewers as I have been using one of these for about two years now and it has worked beautifully. I don't have the European map version and have only used mine in the UK but it has directed me to many destinations almost flawlessly.
Summary: I have a ViaMichelin Sat. Nav. the same model advertised X-950T bought from new 18 months ago and have had the same problems from the start as the other reviewer. Cannot register it on line or any other way,Michelin will not accept the registration. Tried to get help to solve the problems but Michelin ignored my calls.
