Summary: I have two Uniden BCD996P2 scanners in my car. I bought one BC-GPSK unit and connected it to both scanners with a 9-pin serial Y-splitter. It works perfectly. Both scanners lock and unlock sites and groups just as I've programmed them.
Summary: I had another, very similar model, which I burned out by leaving plugged in 24x7 in my car. In the hot sun. So I guess it was time. This one hooked up easy and acquires the birds in about 30 seconds.
Summary: As noted by several other buyers, this kit comes complete with all necessary cables to immediately connect to their scanners. Mine is a Uniden BCD436HP and everything plugged right in with cables long enough to fit any mobile application. Installation and use is largely intuitive.
I had to wrap a zip tie around the connection to feel like it wouldn't just pull off

Summary: The cable on the GPS unit and the cable on the Uniden Home Patrol II do not screw into each other. They both have screws. I had to wrap a zip tie around the connection to feel like it wouldn't just pull off. This seems like a huge oversight.
